 Projects
Division Project
This project is chosen by the Lieutenant Governor every year. This
year, as Lieutenant Governor, I have chosen to continue with
Amber’s Closet as the Division Project. For this project clubs should
collect prom or homecoming style dress that people do not need
anymore. These dresses will then go to a “closet” where girls who
are dealing with money issues can select a dress to help them
defray the cost of going to prom or homecoming.

District Project
This is a project chosen by all of the Lieutenant Governors in the
Capital District. All of the Lieutenant Governor’s decided that
“Green is KEY” should be this year’s project. For this project, clubs
should be environmentally friendly in any ways possible. For
example, if your meeting agenda is normally two pages long,
instead of printing on only one side of the paper, print double
sided. This will lower the amount of paper waste your club makes.
There are many other ways to show that Green is KEY, so if you
have any ideas, please share them with me.

Governor’s Project
This project is chosen by our District Governor each year. This year
Heifer International was chosen. This project encourages clubs to
raise money to buy animals for people in third world countries. All
of the animals are shared in a community. Say we raise enough
money to buy a female cow, if that cow has a baby, that baby is
given to another family. Governor Christina has asked each
division to raise $600 for this cause, and I believe this is attainable!
 Live2Learn
Key Club’s Newest Major Emphasis Program
At International Convention, the new Major Emphasis Program
Live2Learn was announced. This program revolves around
helping younger student in three different areas. These areas
being: Improving Grades, Giving Back, and Growing Together.
Improving grades is just that. Helping kids improve their grades in
many ways, such as tutoring, or reading to them. Giving back
refers to introducing younger kids to service for others at an
earlier age. Growing together encourages kids to expand their
creativity and imagination in ways other than academics.

Reminders
Secretaries: Monthly reports are due by the 3rd of each month for
Derby points. If you do not turn them in by the 3rd, then they are
due by the 5th at the latest.

Rules: For every item on the list that you or
Calvert-12 your club does from now until DCON in April,
Great Mills- 12 your club will receive the designated number of
points. At DCON, I will recognize the winning
Huntingtown- club at some point and give them a small
5 reward.

Lackey-6 The things you can do to earn points are as

follows:

1) Send me a picture of your club at a meeting,
McDonough- or completing a service project (1 point per
photo)
0 2) Have at least two officers attend a PCM (2
Northern-12 points per PCM)
3) Have a general member attend a PCM (2
North Point-10 points per general member)
4) Have early bird dues (10 points per club)
Patuxent-0 5) Have monthly reports in by the 3rd of each
month (3 points per month)
Ryken-20
6) Send in a story for the Capital Key(has to be
Thomas sent to me, and I will forward it) (5 points)
7) Send me your meeting minutes (4 points)
Stone-0 8) Call or email me with any Key Club related
questions (2 points)

 Trustee Information
At International Convention in Denver, the Lieutenant Governors had a
chance to elect the 15 new international trustees. Then our governor
made a request for which trustee she would like to have as the Capital
District trustee. Governor Christina chose three that she thought would
benefit Capital the best. Then International chose how to divide the new
trustees. Our new International Trustee is Anyssa Black from the Carolinas
District. At ICON, Anyssa used a very clever platform called ROCK IT. Each
letter stood for a word or phrase that she thought Key Club was all about
or should have something to do with.

**Announcement**
Division 22 has a group on Facebook. Just search Division
22 Key Club. Please join if you have a Facebook, and
encourage your members to join as well. I haven’t been
posting anything on here recently but will begin to again
now.
 PCM
I like to send a big thank you to
everyone who attended the
PCM on January 10th. We
elected the new Lieutenant
Governor. I know that Chelsea
Stahl will do a fantastic job as
Lieutenant Governor. Chelsea is
currently a junior at La Plata
High School. Chelsea has
revived La Plata’s key club over
the past year. Her enthusiasm
will be great for Division 22!
