Hi, Well right now I'm working on AIX that is similar to UNIX.

Secondly, the most important thing in cracking this interview is one's attitude and sensibility. If one knows just the basics of programming like Encapsulation, Inheritance, Overloading etc., he/she can answer the questions asked. One very important thing is Microprocessors. Questions were like difference between 8085 and 8086 microprocessor, basic commands used with them. Writing very simple programs like sorting, string concatenation is also common. That's all about my personal experience. Wish them all the best! And ask them to attend the EEP classes very attentively b'coz that means almost 70% of job is done.

Hi, It is our pleasure that HCL is visiting LPU for campus placements again. I would like to inform you that the major problem our students face is regarding the misconception of HCL being BPO or KPO. But HCL deals in Infra Structure Management, which has nothing to do with development but yes providing services to clients like Nokia, Volvo, Fox etc. Also technologies being used here are: Networks(Basic CCNA, SQL, Oracle, Backup, Security, UNIX, LINUX and few others. So the technical questions being asked to students are always very basic and up to the level of a fresher. Example of few questions: 1) For Networks: Difference between L2 and L3 Switch -Difference between switch, hub and router. -What is an IP Address, Subnet etc. 2) Linux related questions What is Linux? Commands of Linux. 3) Basics of SQL,Oracle. 4) Servers,Hardware, Network devices. Genuinely speaking HCL hires people who have more confidence and sound attitude rather than hiring knowledge geeks so more emphasis should be given to communication and confidence development. Also students should be aware of company format. HCL Comnet is a part of HCL Technologies which is also known with the name HCL ISD (Infrastructure Service Division) and for the development part HCL

Tech and HCL Info systems controls the productions and sales of hardware. HCL Founder- Shiv Naddar Current CEO- Vineet Nayyar. Thanks & all the best. Wish to see more & more LPU Students in HCL.

Hi, Thank you for giving such a great opportunity to me to share my views on my selection Currently I am working in networks and security domain of data centre and as per the technology, i am working on checkpoint firewall, Symantec antivirus, IPS and IDS. Their configuration and deployment at client side and providing 100 percent support to client. In my technical interview they asked totally about networking basic, questions are from DNS, DHCP, OSI model, Regarding my project in detail all the technology involved in the project, hobbies, interest area and few questions from electronic and communication part. And specially for electronics student the main question is, Been from electronics background why would you like to join IT Organization (MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION FOR ECE STUDENT). And in HR round all the question are based on situations and from resume. So it is very much advisable that the students must cover all the above mention topics so that they can perform well in their interviews, and also they must build a strong and attractive resume because most of the selections are based on resume.

Hi, This is in response to the mail regarding HCL ISD coming for campus drive on 27th September 2012. I am pleased to hear that LPU is providing such a great interface to its students. I was placed in HCL in one such campus drive by HCLISD in December 2011. I am currently working on LOTUS NOTES technology (a product by IBM). Few of the questions asked by HCLISD in technical round were1) What is encapsulation? Explain it as if I am not aware of what computer is! 2) What is abstraction? 3) What is router and switch? What is the basic difference between them? 4) Just some of the basic questions regarding IP address! Just be clear about your basics and be confident. They want good communication skills and also you should know what you have written in your CV. be sure that you can tell something or the other regarding the hobbies that you write in the CV. I wish most of the students get through this interview.
