Definition of electroplating
Electroplating is process to plate metal by other metal with electrolysis
Purpose of electroplating
The purposes of electroplating are protecting metal of corrosion and making performance of metal better Examples: We plate iron by chromium to make the iron resists corosion We plate copper ring by gold to make the ring looks better MENU

The purpose of electroplating is protecting metal of corrosion or making the performance of metal better
In electroplating process, the metal that will be plated is placed as cathode (negative pole); the plater metal is placed as anode (positive pole) The metals (cathode and anode) are immersed into the solution that has cation (positive ion) of plater metal
The plater metal is dissolved or oxidized in solution from anode , and its ion is precipitated or reduced in the surface of cathode
