There are filters in place which cut down on inappropriate use, but some have found ways of getting around x them by using proxies. The district policy was revised this year to incorporate public wifi x usage. Work is being done my a building committee to make the planning process more formal and connected to the district's improvement plan. The committee is diverse and represents many x facets of school life. x There is a newly formed technology planning committee at the school this year. There had been one in the past, but it disbanded after people x retired, etc. Work is being done this year to improve x this process.

The administrators have iPads. Staff uses classroom computers for attendance, grades, presentations, and even an online grading system for digital writing submissions. Skyward is the primary system used for administrative record keeping including attendance and grades. The school is soon to implement Data Dashboard. Other systems used are turnitin.com and the Accelerated Reader program.

Tools for assessment are scarce, but tools for reporting are adequate. PowerPoint is used many many teachers with projectors. Videos and animations found on the internet are shared with students this way.

x Some staff report that they are typically able to figure out solutions themselves. Tech support called mainly when there is a problem with equipment. They do not typically train teachers on its use. Classrooms and computer labs are hardwired to the Internet. There has been the recent addition of several wifi hotspots throughout the two main buildings to aid in wireless communication. The buildings have steel structures which make it difficult to maintain strong wireless or cellular connections.

The school has provided each teacher with a page on its website to provide their biographical information as well as information about their classes. Teachers have used these pages to various degrees. Some teachers do not have any information there, while others have detailed syllabi, links to helpful websites, or PowerPoint presentation s that can be downloaded and viewed at home.

All staff members have a school email address. Students are able to access their own email accounts, but one is not provided to them by the district. 15 iPads were purchases at the beginning of the year for the use in classrooms. Some would like to see an increase in interactive projector use, as well as the use of cell phone as tools in the classrooms and more iPad use.
