Merry Christmas SHS!!

Wow, what a year 2012 was!!! This time last year we were in hugely outdated facilities and wondering if London 2012 would be any good? Fast forward 12 months and the change is simply amazing! We are in fantastic new state of the art facilities which have revolutionised our PE lessons and made us all raise our standards. Then of course there is London 2012. 6 weeks of the summer that changed many of our lives forever and united us as a nation. The legacy of the games is evident in our PE survey where 18 sports featured as students favourites and extra curricular attendance has simply gone through the roof. In addition to this we have set SHS students on the path to their own Olympic glory with the Elite Athlete Potential Pathway. 2012 had the potential to be very good indeed, but in the end it beat anything we could have dreamed of!

How sport shapes us all

"When we were awarded the opportunity to host the Olympics, we said that we would be judged ten years after winning the bid to host the Games. Only fifty per cent of the story has been told and the most exciting part of this is still to come, we have to get it right. Lord Coe, October 2012
