Name: Gerrit Verwaal Age: 56 yrs Residence: Schijflaan 12, Delft Profession: civil engineer at the local government of Delft Civil class: married with Anja (52 yrs) Children: 2 (Marieke 23 yrs, student in Utrecht and Tom 20 Child yrs, travelling through Australia) Hobbies: making music with his guitar and creating things with his hands

Original from a small village from Gelderland, Gerrit came to Delft at an age of 20 to study there. He met his wife in Delft and they stayed there to live there life together. they have lives in the Schijflaan for 16 years, because they moved here for their children: a safe and quiet street. They enjoy the fact that it is isolated, but still in a big city. Now their children moved out, Gerrit and Anja live two years alone in their house. They like it they have more space for themselves. Gerrit even has now his own workplace to build stuff. Gerrit works at the civil engineering department of Delft, where he gets in contact with all kind of new technologies. More and more is done in a digital way, so he is good in using computers and even owns a smart phone since last year. He knows some other neighbours, but only from his own lane. He meets them only while passing each other on the street and then they have a chat. Once he had a barbecue with all his direct neighbours, which he really enjoyed. He is actually wondering why its not happening more often because he would like to have a bit more contact, but doesnt take initiative to organise something himself.
