Note on Dates:
All dates before the construction of the Temple are dependant upon a literal reading of I Kings 6:1 which states that there were 480 years between the beginning of the Exodus and the beginning of construction on Solomons temple. This reading requires that the 450 years of rule by the judges, and the 40 year reign of Saul, mentioned in the New Testament must be the total of several overlapping periods of time (See Samuel J. Schulz, The Old Testament Speaks, 103-104).
