Trouble Shooting Manual

PCI Card Installation First, download the driver zip for PCICardDriver.rar, then unzip the file to C:Download(or appointed directory). 1) Turn off the computer and unplug the power wire. 2) Insert PCI card into the PCI socket of the computer. 3) Then start the computer. 4) After WINDOWS startupit will search the driver for the PCI card, the following picture will show up. Printhead not firing ink Please check: 1) Printhead voltage is on. 2) Optical fiber connects correctly.
3) The reading of the encoder in the software is changing when the carriage is moving.If reading does not increase or decrease correspondingly, check the encoder sensor, long data cable, printhead board and servo board

Carriage motor(X motor) / Feeding motor(Y motor) not functioning Please check: 1) PCI card is installed properly. 2) Motor is under self-lock with electricity, if motor is under self-lock, please check. High density data cable connects properly.
3) Refer to the motor driving board (DB810) in the circuit diagram for the connections of the power and data cable are connecting correctly.

Feeding or take-up motor not functioning 1) Check the sensitivity of the sensor and switch. 2) Replace the feeding and take-up board.
3) Replace the feeding or take-up sensor.

X or Y motor overheated (The surface of the motor exceeds 50 degree Celsius) 1) Check whether there is resistance when moving the carriage. If there is obvious resistance, check if the motor gear is in the proper position. The gear should not have contact with the motor.
2) Check the motor driver. Limit to +. Gain to -. Damp to -, and turn back about 30 degree. If there is noise from the motor, turn the Damp to more -.

The parameter of printhead voltage is not correct when uploading or downloading 1) The driver of the PCI card is installed. 2) Optical fiber connects correctly. 3) No damage on the optical fiber. 4) Change computer and PCI card.
5) Change printhead board.

Software froze or parameter cannot be saved Replace the printer software from the CD.
Printer software requires all the files to be writable. Uncheck the Only for read under the properties. Printing width does not match the setting width The resolution of RIP image does not match the resolution in the Printer software.For exampleif the resolution of the rip image is 240*540DPIbut using 180DPI.ini file in the software

Printhead not firing ink during printing 1) Remove all the air in the tubes, be sure that no air leakage. 2) Set proper printhead voltage, if necessary, use multimeter to measure every printheads voltage on printhead converting boards.

3) Negative pressure is correct by adjusting the subtank height.

If problem still exist, please contact local distributor and let special technician repair it.

Ink supply system not functioning 1) Reconnect flat data cable and the connection part is not damaged. 2) Ink pump connects properly. 3) Change servo board. 4) Floating switch is working properly.
If all ink cant be supplied after changing servo board, please check if there is safety subtank equiped, if not ,please short circuit JP8 on printhead board.

Pump is not working 1) Check the incoming voltage. 2) The plug is connected properly. 3) Use syringe to inject and suck out air from the ink incoming side. Stop until you feel the piston is moving. 4) Check whether there is ink in the safety Subtank, if that, please empty the safety subtank.
5) Change pump.

Ink drops out from the printhead 1) If the problem occur while installing new machine, maybe the air tube is clipped and check the electric magnetic valve if it is expedite, if necessary, change it.
2) If the problem occur during machine running, first should check if the main tank is empty. If only Ink drops out from the printhead, should check whether there is some fibre attached the surface of printhead. Besides, please check the tube from subtank to printhead if it is expedite.

Interruption during printing 1) Restart the printer and the computer. 2) Rip the image again. 3) Optical fiber connection. 4) Replace the Printer software. 5) Change PCI card.
6) Change printhead board.

Printer froze or bi-direction changes to uni-direction, carriage hitting the frame, and haves data error 1) Long and short belts of the carriage movement is vibrating. 2) Consistence between motor bearing and motor. 3) Encoder is dirty. 4) Change motor.
Here, please setup or change short belt or gear again, and you can also setup the parameter of stepsize for carriage movement again. The original reason resulted in the problem is that the warp value of carriage motor encoder and X encoder is beyond the permitted range, it results in that the

printer cant finish the printing data controlled by X encoder within the carriage movement area and printing data error.

Carriage is at the origin position, and it moves to the right after pressing reposition 1) Change the origin sensor if it is always in the off position. 2) Reconnect the DIR signal wire on the X motor driver if it is loosening.
Printhead voltage and temperature reading abnormal The printer v1.11 has the option for voltage and temperature ratio when setting the voltage. The printer v1.13 or more update version doesnt support this function anymore. So set both of the ratio to default in the version 1.11, after that, you can use more update version to read and write the printhead voltage. Carriage moves to the home abnormally(Carriage doesnt move to right after the left limit switch is pressed and Press either the left or right limit switch, the STS displays 00111 or 001111 if more update Version than V1.16) Change printhead board. STS displays 00000 or 000001 if more update version than V1.16 after opening software and printer Change long data cable for signal. STS displays 00000 or 000001 if more update version than V1.16 after opening software and printer Change high density data cable.

Stop suddenly during printing(12V not correct in the electrical system) 1) Loosen the screw at the servo board. 2) Change power supply board for 12V.
Vertical banding on the printed picture Clean 4 rails and the carriage bearing perfectly. If problem still exist, please contact local distributor to assign special technician to repair it.

Carriage moves normally, but printheads cant jet ink The phenomena of the problem are described as below: prntheads cant jet ink during printing even if they are flash jetting at origin position, at the same time, the encoder value displayed in POS changes continually. Even if carriage moves normally, the encoder value displayed in POS changes incorrectly. Please first change the long data cable, if problem still exist, next change printhead board, encoder sensor or high density data cable. Remark: That printhead jets ink during printing is on the basis of correct encoder value. Problems resulted from irrelevant installation of PCI card There will be three representative phenomena:1) printing data error;2) while start the software, carriage moves to origin position, software cant open successfully;3) while start the software, carriage doesnt move.

Please take out PCI card, then use rubber wiper or wiper dipped with alcohol to wipe the PCI card interface.. If problem remains, you can insert PCI card into other PCI sockets of computer or change another computer to try. At last ,you can consider to replace it with a new PCI card. Problems resulted from bad contacting for the high density data cable It can result in problems that have relation with movement, such as that carriage cant move to origin position, cost a long time to move to origin position, carriage moves abnormally, carriage doesnt move, no media feeding and so on. First, consider to plug high density data cable or install PCI card again, if problem remains, please change high density data cable, servo board, servo driver or motor.
