Tetanus eliminate validation statistics from UNICEF

Two states (Mizoram and Delhi) in India will conduct a validation survey in December 2012 while two other states (Uttarkand and Odissa) will conduct pre-validation assessments in November 2012. The following countries are ready for validation surveys in 4th quarter 2012: Cameroon and India (partial). Cote dIvoire and Sierra Leone are ready for validation surveys in early 2013. A pre-validation assessment was conducted in Cambodia in October 2012 which showed that Cambodia requires strengthening of MNTE program in selected high risk districts (Kratie and Rattanakiri). The December 2012 and January 2013 News Briefs have been posted (http://www.kiwanisone.org/Pages/Resources/default.aspx? PageID=503) and are ready for districts to use.

Enjoy these fundraising ideas from Ohio: a. Columbus Kiwanis held its second annual 5K run on Sunday November 4, an event which supports its Model Club efforts for The Eliminate Project and has also been added as the clubs signature event. b. Cincinnati Kiwanis, another Model Club, held an Angels and Demons fundraiser raising $675. The event featured a fall-themed buffet dinner, a silent auction, a Vampire cabernet with a $5 donation to Eliminate for every bottle of wine sold, and a Costume Contest. Event coordinator Amy Zimmerman suggest starting small, finding a neighborhood venue and/or turning a happy hour into a themed event that engages the community.
