James Ashby Statement Wednesday 12 Dec. 2012 "I am extremely disappointed with the Court's decision today.

This has been a very harrowing time for me, my family, my friends and supporter s. We first filed my sexual harassment complaint against Mr. Slipper back on April 20, that is almost 8 months ago, eight months ago. Since that date no evidence at all has been heard on my substantive complaint against the former Speaker, i. e. that he sexually harassed me. There has been a determined campaign to try a nd prevent the substantive allegations being heard, and judged, in open court, and to put me to the maximum cost in pursuing justice. With my lawyers, we will study the judgement in detail, but at this stage, we i ntend to appeal this regrettable decision. " BACKGROUND The Commonwealth Government dropped its Abuse of Process claim against Mr. Ashby several months back. The Commonwealth agreed to implement a sexual harassment education program for all Federal MPs and also pay Mr. Ashby $50,000.
