We have now commenced the deliberate periods of
silenceduringourliturgy,atthefollowingmes:

1. DuringthePenitenalAct,aerthePresiderinvites
us to prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred
mysteries,inordertorecollectourselves;
2. During the Collect, aer the invitaon of the
PresidertoLetuspray,againinordertorecollect
ourselves;and
3. DuringtheLiturgyoftheWord,attheconclusionof
a reading or the homily, in order that we might
meditateonwhatwehaveheard.

These short periods of silence (of about 30 seconds

duraon) will no doubt take some me to become a
natural part of our celebraons, and I thank you for
yourpaenceandperseveranceintheinterim.
