Charles reported that First Foundation has approved the grant request of $2500 to fund our keynote speaker: Dr. Richard Kearney. Much appreciation to the FF, as this is the key element of the event, and gives the project the needed boost that we need. Remember: all donations are to be sent to the following address, earmarked as Hospitality Project: We can continue solicitation of sponsors for the event at this point. The logos of the sponsoring institutions will appear on both the flyer and brochure. A cost of $200 was set to have the logo appear in these materials. A presented by category is established for a donation of $1000 or more. On the other end of the spectrum, a category of patron is established at a figure of $20, designed primarily for private donations. First Presbyterian Church Birmingham 1669 West Maple Road Birmingham, MI 48009 Attn: Barb Darga; or Financial Assistant I. We welcomed new member Carrie Orlando to the steering committee. She reported that First Congregational Church, Rochester Hills, will discuss final approval for hosting the Saturday evening supper theater program performed by FullImpactTheater: The Good Person of Szechwan. Congregational approval is expected. Generally, the cost for Saturday, including the cost of the dinner theater production, was reconsidered and set at $35. Final plans for this event will be developed after the St. Dunstans event on January 20. II. The steering committee decided to request 30 tickets for the January 20 St. Dunstans theatrical performance to resell as a HI fund-raiser. He will be in touch with Jason toward the end of this week for logistical details.

III. Charles reported continued progress at Oakland University in terms of support. The School of Business has awarded the project between $750-1,000 and wishes to be listed as a co-sponsor for Summit 2013. This will pay for the flyers being developed by the department of media relations. Much thanks to Mohan Tanniru, dean of the college of business, and Padma Kuppa, who connected Charles and Mohan. IV. A brain-storming session was held concerning the development of the official project logo. Diane is heading up this project with a personal contact graphic designer, and will keep us informed as to progress. This is a high priority item, since the logo will go on all our materials. Cathy suggested a thematic interplay between the final web address, tagline, and logo, perhaps around the theme of World-Wide Openness. Diane will secure several drafts of the logo for the committee to consider. V. A review of the requested items, such as microphones, video projectors, and the like was conducted for the Saturday, May 4, aspect of the Summit. Charles will forward to Graciela Osterberg, religious studies secretary. Submitted by: Charles Mabee
