ASHTON HAYES PRIMARY SCHOOL NEWS

ISSUE 7 / AUTUMN TERM 2012 / THURSDAY 13TH DECEMBER 2012 THE ROBERTS FAMILY
The Roberts family would like to send Christmas best wishes from Texas! We are having a great time living in sunny Austin. We have all settled in. School is going well the only problem is the day starts at 7.35am. The boys get on the big yellow bus at 6.55am ouch! Toby, Zac and Sebbie say a big hi to all their friends. We miss everyone and lovely Ashton Hayes Primary School! A Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all!

RECEPTION AND KEY STAGE 1 NATIVITY

A very big well done to all the children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 for performing twice this week in their Christmas Production of Santas Lost his Hat. Now that he has found his hat, we hope he will be delivering lots of presents to all the children this year. Thanks to all the staff for all their work and to the parents who have kindly spent time making the costumes to help the end result look stunning!

OUR NEW SCHOOL BUILDING

I cannot believe that a year has passed since we moved into the newest part of our school. Almost exactly a year ago, the whole school walked into the new classrooms for the first time. The new building continues to be a delight for the staff and children to work in.

THEATRE VISIT FOR KS2

The children in KS2 had a wonderful time at the theatre last week enjoying a production of Cinderella. Well done for all the children for having such high standards of behaviour as they represented our school at the theatre in Crewe.

PTFA CHRISTMAS FAIR

What a wonderful occasion the Fair was last week! Thank you to all the parents and friends who helped organise the Fair and make it such a success and thank you to everyone who came along to support the school. I am delighted to say that the Fair raised just over 1,300...a fantastic achievement for a small school. The PTFA will be meeting on Tuesday 15th January at 8.00pm (venue to be confirmed) to confirm how they would like to spend this money - very exciting!

HEAD LICE
We have had a couple of cases of head lice in the school in the past few days. Can you please take the opportunity of the school holiday to check your childs head and treat any lice/eggs if you find them. If we all do this at the same time during the holiday, there is a good chance that we will get rid of them from school!

INTERNET SAFETY EVENING

I was very disappointed that only three (and two of those were also members of staff) parents came to the Internet Safety Awareness Workshop we held in school on Monday evening. I was very glad that I attended and listened to PC Williamson - I gained a huge amount of knowledge about the potential pitfalls of using the Internet and how children can put themselves in danger. I strongly urge you and your family to look at: www.thinkuknow.co.uk to explore ways to make the Internet use safe in your home and for your family.

We wish you all a happy and peaceful Christmas and very best wishes for 2013.

KS1 THEATRE VISIT TO SCHOOL

The infant children will be enjoying a wonderful performance of Puss in Boots, to be held in school tomorrow morning. We are inviting Huxley CE Primary School, Utkinton CE Primary School and Barrow CE Primary School to join in the fun.

We look forward to welcoming the children back to school on Tuesday 8th January 2013.
