PRECAUTIONS PRECAUTIONS PFP:00001 Precautions for Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) "AIR BAG" and "SEAT BELT PRE-TENSIONER"
A
EFS0016N
The Supplemental Restraint System such as "AIR BAG" and "SEAT BELT PRE-TENSIONER", used along B with a front seat belt, helps to reduce the risk or severity of injury to the driver and front passenger for certain types of collision. Information necessary to service the system safely is included in the SRS and SB section of this Service Manual. C WARNING: q To avoid rendering the SRS inoperative, which could increase the risk of personal injury or death in the event of a collision which would result in air bag inflation, all maintenance must be perD formed by an authorized NISSAN/INFINITI dealer. q Improper maintenance, including incorrect removal and installation of the SRS, can lead to personal injury caused by unintentional activation of the system. For removal of Spiral Cable and Air E Bag Module, see the SRS section. q Do not use electrical test equipment on any circuit related to the SRS unless instructed to in this Service Manual. SRS wiring harnesses can be identified by yellow and/or orange harness connectors. BR
EFS000ZZ
Recommended fluid is brake fluid DOT 3. q Never reuse drained brake fluid. q Be careful not to splash brake fluid on painted areas. q To clean or wash all parts of master cylinder, disc brake caliper and wheel cylinder, use clean brake fluid. q Never use mineral oils such as gasoline or kerosene. They will ruin rubber parts of the hydraulic system. q Use flare nut wrench when removing and installing brake tube. SBR686C q Always tighten brake lines to specified torque when installing. q Burnish the brake contact surfaces after refinishing or replacing drums or rotors, after replacing pads or linings, or if a soft pedal occurs at very low mileage. Refer to BR-31 (Front disc brake) and BR-25 (Rear disc brake) for brake burnishing procedure. WARNING: q Clean brake pads and shoes with a waste cloth, then wipe with a dust collector.
EFS00100
When you read wiring diagrams, refer to the following: q Refer to GI-11, "How to Read Wiring Diagrams" . q Refer to PG-3, "POWER SUPPLY ROUTING CIRCUIT" for power distribution circuit. When you perform trouble diagnosis, refer to the following: q Refer to GI-9, "HOW TO FOLLOW TEST GROUPS IN TROUBLE DIAGNOSES" . q Refer to GI-24, "How to Perform Efficient Diagnosis for an Electrical Incident" . q For trouble diagnoses of models with ABS, refer to BRC-7, "TROUBLE DIAGNOSIS" . q For trouble diagnoses of models with TCS even if the diagnostic items are related to the ABS system, refer to BRC-54, "TROUBLE DIAGNOSIS" .

1. 2. Loosen the stop lamp switch by turning it 45 to the left. Loosen lock nut A on input rod and adjust the pedal to specified height by turning the input rod. When finished adjusting tighten lock nut A. CAUTION: Make sure that the screw portion of the end of input rod is located inside the clevis. Lock nut A: 16 - 21 Nm (1.6 - 2.2 kg-m, 12 - 15 ft-lb) 3. Push the stop lamp switch while keeping the pedal drawing near by hand until the end of screw portion of the stop lamp switch touches the stopper rubber. Keeping the end of the screw of the stop lamp switch pressed against the stopper rubber, turn the switch 45 to the right and then fix it. CAUTION: Make sure that the gap (C portion) between the stopper rubber and the end of screw of stop lamp switch is within specification. Check the play of the pedal. CAUTION: Make sure that the stop lamp goes off when the pedal is released. Start the engine and check the height of the brake pedal when depressing it.
