A thing long expected takes the form of the unexpected when at last it comes
Mark Twain
Oh, Canada!
Transition spills over me like sparking, molten glueeverything in fluid motion, and yet held together. These last few months GOODNESSI wish I could show you all of it! I have been home for a few weeks but feel like I am just now starting to process some of this summer. Classes and the community at CanIL were incredible! What a mixture of working to the bone academic brain-cogs screeching and smoking with the heft of a freight trainbut softened and fortified by a loving group of like-minded peers, all working just as hard beside me. What a blessing to have had the company of so many others that are training for various roles in Bible Translation too. They made me brave, bolstered me in my battle with Phonology, and spent long evenings crying out to God with me about the decisions, applications, and assignments we were all facing. They tackled the summer with utter resplendence and I am left thankful to have gone through this with them.
News!
And speaking of that juggling of weighty decisions, sights, studies, gasped, needy prayers, and roguish-hopes, it is with such joy, that I finally get to announce this: as of the end of August, I am
New Guinea as a
Language Surveyor!!
So what comes next?! I am currently taking Wycliffes online orientation course, called Equip, working part-time, and continuing Linguistics studies to prepare for moving to PNG in one year! In October I will take a bus to the Wycliffe USA headquarters, where my online course will culminate in 2 weeks of onsite training. I also have 1-2 more courses to take next summer (back in Canada), and will be spending a lot of time between now and then traveling and connecting with as many people as will have me and want to know about what God is up to in PNG and how they can help.
