Under work pressure the saw blade deflects so that it is supported on points only. A hardened steel guide such as a ball bearing guide cannot adjust itself and will tear and chew the saw blade from the rear which will greatly shorten the life ol the blade. The microscopic view shows what happens to a saw blade when used with
non-self-seating guides
Iace under varying working pressure has been solved with the Grob guides. After "seating" itself in the guide the back of the bale wears smooth as shown by microscopic view. Note how the surlace is actually improved over new unused saw blade. Long life o{ the guides is assured by a felt oiler mounted directly above the upper guide.
Grob self-seating guides with the new Grob Lubricator are now recognized as the most perfect and only satisfactory guide for contour metal sawing. The guides are made of tough hard aluminum bronze, Rockwell C-34.
