Dear Sir/Madam, My name is Allen Zhou and I am a Year 10 student in the LEAP program for Science and Mathematics

at Lyneham High School. I wish to study at Narrabundah College next year for the following reasons. Narrabundah College has a great music program like no other. Itthat is the one of the biggest features which no other college can provide for me. I truly hope to take myself to the next level with Narrabundah Colleges extension music program as I believe it is the course to suit my needs. I have a long experience in music which can testify to that. Ive been playing the piano since I was five and a half and Ive completed all Trinity Guildhall exams from initial to grade 8 by 2009. Im currently studying for the Trinity Guildhall Advanced Performance Certificate. Moreover, I have been a successful piano teacher for beginners up to grade 1 levels for 2 years already. I have contested in the Taylor/Miles Franklin music Music Ffestivals winning first place most of the time and the Australian National Eisteddfod Piano Division with a second place and a third place. Not only am I proficient in piano but I am also a member of the ACT Iinstrumental Pprogram since 2007 starting with the Primary Concert Band Thursday all the way to the Senior Concert Band playing the F Horn and Senior Jazz Band playing the piano from 2009. In addition, I am also a member of the Lyneham High School concert bands playing F Horn since year Year 7. My music experience doesnt stop there. I have also been involved with the Lyneham High Musical Production in this years musical production of Les Miserables and last years production of Once on This Island as a band member. My electives at Lyneham High have mainly been the performance music class where a couple of friends and I have formed a pretty successful funk/fusion band which has performed on numerous occasions for the school and social events. Moreover, since 2 years ago, I became a piano teacher assistant for helping teaching the beginners at weekends, and had own piano students from beginners up to Grade 1 levels from February 2010. Finally, I would also like to apply for the music scholarship as that may be an incentive to strive for greater heights in music. With the extension music course and the music scholarship, I hope to grow even more skilled in music. Another course which I believe is important for my future is the Forestry course that only Narrabundah College offers. With current global trends the environment cannot last much longer and so studying forests and sustainable applications towards our forests would be an essential to our future. I believe by completing my study in this course, it will help me in great deal in hope to learning more about the problems at hand and make educated decisions in the future, and in my future career choice. Finally, Mmany of my friends are currently attending school at Narrabundah or are also applying for it so Narrabundah College would be a comfortable school environment for me.
