Salvation is a Progressive Rock/ Alternative band from North Kolkata formed

in 2005.The band was founded when Arindam Mukherjee responded to a typical search conducted by the drummer Suman and the keyboardist Joy for their respective requirement. Later on the line-up changed and become a five member based Progressive Rock / Alternative band called Salvation. The current line-up features long-time lead guitarist Sandip who joined the band in 2006 and another keyboardist Tuhin (member since 2010) alongside Arindam, Suman & Animesh. Influenced by early Thrash metal, Neo classical death metal, Progressive metal and Alternative rock bands such as Metallica, Disturbed, Children of Bodom, Symphony X, Course of Nature and Dream Theatre; New Wave of British Heavy Metal bands such as Judas Priest, Megadeth and Iron Maiden. Salvation expanded its compositional technique and range of expression to take on a more aggressive approach in following compositions like Insane Reflections, Son Of God, Spirit of Vengeance, End Of Days, Silver Moonlight etc. Salvations lyrics deal with more personal and socially conscious issues including religious illusions and rage, insanity, monsters, and drugs. All the mentioned OC(s) are presently under a theme related to one of our greatest epic tales of Mahabharata, defining different characters. Impressed by the progressive natured composition Son Of God, Salvation was awarded the first place to become the only champion at NIFD (National Institute of Fashion Designing) competition held at GD Birla Sabhaghar in March 2008.

Arindam Mukherjee
Born: 2nd June 1987. Role: Lead Vox & Strings. Musical influences: Dream Theatre, Children Of Bodom, Fuzon, Course Of Nature, Metallica, Evanescence etc. Gear: Jackson (Randy Rhodes III series), POD XT LIVE processor and Roland 15DX amp. Role description: Specialized in creative musical arrangements (Lyrics, instrumental coordination, & Vocals). Learning Guitar from Mainak Roy (associated with Single Units) and Vocals from Pritam Chatterjee (Khonj). Heavily influenced by James Hatfield, Safqut Amanat Ali (Fuzon), Ali Azmat (Junoon), John Lennon, Amy Lee etc. The founder of Salvation. Creativity has a certain point or portal where it needs have a start. May it be in form of Lyrics, tune or playing any particular instrument; we have these all with Arindam. A master in writing lyrics on a respective theme and foremostly, creating the tune of the song. Apart from singing and playing solos, rhythmic riffs etc, he is the person who starts the composition with an unique but incomplete structure and presents the raw form of it. This structure later on with regular practice and accumulative ideas gets completed by the other members. Nevertheless, he has the perfection of ideas to judge what exactly is there for him in future to innovate (whats next).

Sandip Aich
Born: 22nd August, 1986. Role: Strings & back vocals. Musical influences: Dream Theatre, Children Of Bodom, Fuzon, Course Of Nature, Metallica, Evanescence etc. Gear: Ibanez (GRG 270DX series), Boss GT-100 processor. Role description: Specialized in front guitar support & playing creative solos making the song more powerful and fulfilled. Learned from Mainak Roy (associated with Single Units). One of the founder members of Salvation. Heavily influenced by John Petrucci. He trieshe plays..and we feel that he is a bank of master melody sections and solos which are highly required for our OC(s). It will be better not to describe but to make you listen to our composition named Insane Reflections, where his work shows his dedication of understanding and fulfilling the demands. He may not move a lot on stage..but his fingers do (LOL).

Suman Dey
Born: 10th December 1988. Role: Drums & Percussions. Musical influences: Dream Theatre, Children Of Bodom, Fuzon, Course Of Nature, Metallica, Evanescence etc. Gear: Mapex Tornado with Meinl Brass set. Role description: People know him by his name but we call him our BACKBONE. His role with us justifies the title. He is one of the founder members of Salvation. Learned from Gaurab Chatterjee (Lakkhichara). Received certificate of participation in a Rock show at St. Lawrence Boys School from Taaza TV and Interface 2005 at Ballygunge Shiksha Sadan Fest. We may judge a drummer to a very little extent by his influences and the type of playing he likes to listen and play. As like Suman has been typically influenced by some drummers like Mike Portnoy, Lars Ulrich and Virgil Donati, Marco etc. It sets a standard for him because he is a Progressive music lover and everytime when we try to arrange a song, he gives us a path on extraordinary odd time signatures which in return helps our strings innovate lot of fabulous variations making it more concrete, different and smelling like a teens spirit (LOL). Rest things are on your own ears to listen in front of your eyes.. He doesnt talk too much without playing.

Tuhin Biswas
Born: 19th January 1989. Role: Keyboard playing & sequencing. Musical influences: Dream Theatre (Jordon Reich), Children Of Bodom, Fuzon, Course Of Nature, Metallica, Evanescence etc. Gear: Korg Karma (Music Workstation). Role description: The color!! If we are nose & eyes of a body then he is the Sense. His role has been very much appreciated everywhere in music circuit for immense sync layering, piano playing, solos and sequencing master FX which could be easily judged by listening to the song Son of God . Throughout the song he concentrates to hold the actual carnetic melody and plays some odd time signature solos to set our sound standard.

Animesh Chakrabarty
Born: 25th October 1988. Role: Bass and back vocals. Musical influences: Dream Theatre, Children Of Bodom, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Evanescence etc. Gear: Cort Action DLX, Boss GEB 7, Boss CEB 3. Role description: Now he is the one who completes Salvation from all ends and covers the song with his potential bass skills. What we exactly realize while playing with this guy is that comfort and understanding which we have been looking for all these years A nice playing. In more details, Salvation doesnt wants someone to play something very complex, fast which lacks clarity but anything which the composition demands, which may not require unnecessary fast playing and we think we have met with an appropriate guy to accomplish our respective objectives.
