That Council apopt the minutes of the Special Council Meeting dated
January 19, 2009.

That Council now resolve into a Special Closed Meeting according to Section 90 of the

2. UBCM Community Connections Grant - Langley Fine Arts School

That Council endorse the UBCM School Community Connections Program grant
application in the amount of $8,000 as prepared by School District #35 and
Langley Fine Arts School PAC to support their playground replacement project.

That Council support the 2009 World Police & Fire Games request with a
minimum commitment of $25,000.

4. B.C. Farm Machinery and Agricultural Museum Association Grant Request

That Council approve the request by the B.C. Farm Machinery and Agricultural
Museum Association for an additional $10,000 apart from their 2009 Capital
Improvement Grant to complete their renovation project.

That Council approve an additional amount of $10,000 to the B.C. Farm
Machinery and Agricultural Museum Association from the Council Contingency
Fund.

5. Fort Langley BIA Budget for 2009

Councillor Ferguson presented the following Notice of Motion within the


deadlines according to Council’s Policy:

1. Township Council Workshop


Moved by Councillor Ferguson,
Seconded by Councillor Bateman,
Whereas Township Council is beginning a new 3 year term;

Whereas there are many legal, Local Government Act and Community Charter
matters that effect Council decisions on a day to day basis;

Therefore be it resolved that Township Council hold a workshop with Townships


Legal Counsel (Bull, Housser & Tupper) to review and discuss the rules and
responsibilities of Mayor and Council; and further

Be it resolved that this workshop occur within the next 45 days or whenever viably
possible.
