Patterns can be drawn on tracing paper but not transferred to the leather until the contest begins. Any type of tooling is allowed. i.e. floral, geometric, figures, or any combo. The entry fee is $10.00. All of which will go to pay the winners. Bring your own tools, finish, and marble slab. Judging: will be a peoples choice by ballot for the places of 1st , 2nd , and 3rd. After the judging, contest projects will be in a Bucket Raffle where people can buy chances to win their favorite projects. All proceeds from the bucket raffle will go to the CSMA treasury to support CSMA goals. Please dont be afraid to enter even if you feel like you arent good enough. This is a good fundraiser that doubles as an educational experience for both contestant and spectator alike. If you have questions please call Shane Deeter at 435-459-9617.

Each person can build one of their own to keep. Leather and hardware will be available for sale. Bring your own tools. Bob Klenda will show how to do the pulling collar and Shane Deeter will show how to make a standard breast collar. 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Lunch
1:00 p.m.-- Tooling Planner Covers. Bring a 12 in. x 10 in. piece of tooling leather, cased up. There will be patterns provided and instruction from Barry King, Paul Zallesak, Shane, Bob, and others. Bring tools and marble. Tool Sharpening by Paul Zalesak of Leather Wranglers

Start oiling saddle pieces Line Stirrups with Bob Klenda Finish trimming and edging skirts Short demo on choosing the right cinch for your saddle by Daran Alexander
5:00-6:00 p.m. Dinner 6:00 p.m. Quick draw Contest (rules enclosed, approx. 1 1/2 hrs.)
Thursday, January 31, 2013 will be a FREE work day at Deeter Custom Saddlery Shop in LaSal, Utah. Shane says Well
will start at 9 a.m. and work till were done. Bring a project you need help with and a lunch. Limited to the first 8 people who call. Steve Turner is getting some tooling help, another person suggested rawhide bindings as a subject. Call Shane Deeter to reserve your spot for Thursday! 435-459-9617
CSMA Photo Album raffle will begin at Winter Seminar and will end at the Spring Seminar in April. Raffle tickets will be available for sale. Watch for a picture of the Leather Photo Album in the next newsletter!
