What are factors that promote and hinder quality programming? How should we measure that quality? This session will address how Kys Quality Rating System, STARS for KIDS NOW, is used to evaluate program quality, and will provide participants with low cost, homemade enrichments for learning. Post-Partum Depression This session is designed to provide participants with an overview of the effects of postpartum depression on children and families. Well learn that postpartum depression is more than just the baby blues. Particular attention will be given as to how our emotions can affect our interpersonal relationships Meeting the Challenges of School Age Care What are the challenges of school age care that we face on a daily basis? The primary focus of this session will be on best practices regarding social emotional issues of school age children. Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders This session will address the effects of alcohol on fetal growth and development. Participants will learn why FASD is a community problem that requires a community response, and will give early childhood educators behavior management strategies to use when working with those affected.
