LOCATION OF POSITION: GRADE: 5

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Drexel House is a multi-housing program facility for currently and formerly homeless individuals with a 16 bed emergency mens shelter, 25 transitional studio apartments, 10 permanent studio apartments and a one bedroom apartment that is not program based. The Resident Coordinator will have access to all buildings and will provide on-site monitoring for all residents/clients. The Resident Coordinator will direct the residents/clients to the proper individuals to address concerns. The individual in this position will be responsible for facility upkeep including light janitorial and cleaning duties (mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, sanitizing surfaces). The Resident Coordinator will also prepare sack lunches. This position is supported by and answers directly to the Housing Manager. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Staffs the front desk to include answering the phone, authorizing access to clients and guests, and monitoring the security of both buildings. 2. Assures Drexel House facility site is set-up and ready to open, including facilities upkeep such as laundering of sheets, towels and blankets for shelter. 3. Provide consistent enforcement of program policies, procedures and rules for staff and residents/clients. 4. Informs appropriate personnel of problems with operation of appliances, plumbing, heating and electrical systems to ensure site remains safe and operational. 5. Maintain order and communicate/enforce rules and policies. a) Log in /out residents. b) Maintain Nightly Bed List. c) Record significant occurrences in logbook in a professional manner. d) Initiate and model respectful interactions with residents. e) Assist with wake-ups and morning cleanup.

6. Maintain an atmosphere conducive to a good nights rest. a) Ensure all clients are provided with adequate bedding. b) Monitor and ensure the return of all towels, blankets and other Drexel House property issued to residents. c) Ensure temperature is at a comfortable degree. d) Monitor sleeping area and bathrooms to maintain safety and security of residents and premises. 7. Provide resident services and information. a) Resource information lists b) Deliver messages and packages c) Follow up with resident about scheduled items, such as reminder of appointment times. 8. Work with and support volunteer staff. 9. Responsible for providing back up if shift staffing levels require. 10. Responsible for coordinating transportation needs for residents of the facility. 11. Other duties as assigned MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 1. High School Diploma or G.E.D. 2. Experience in social service is desirable; personal experience and understanding of homeless population may be substituted. 3. Valid WA State drivers license and current driving abstract indicating clean driving record for driving Drexel House vehicle. 4. Ability to obtain food handlers permit within 60 days of hire. 5. Ability to work effectively with clients displaying a wide range varying behaviors. 6. Ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse populations. 7. Willingness and ability to make sound judgments without onsite supervision. 8. Work history, which demonstrates reliability and dependability. 9. Provide adequate shift coverage. 10.
