Final year Project: Design and Analysis of Cockroft-Walton DC Voltage Multipliers
DESCRIPTION:
In this project a twelve stage cockroft Walton DC voltage multiplier circuit is designed and
tested in the High Voltage Testing Lab (SASTRA UNIVERSITY).The main scope of this project is to
reduce the ripple content in the dc output of the cockroft Walton circuit. In order to reduce the ripple
content and to increase the voltage regulation the voltage multipliers are fed with high frequency ac
supply. The LM 555 IC timer is used as frequency generator and IRF 540MOSFET for switching
purposes. The output of each stage is connected to various load resistances and analysed theoretically.

Mini project: Solar powered reading lamp

DESCRIPTION:
The goal of this project was to produce a self contained reading lamp that could be used by
students in developing countries for reading at night. The circuit could be used for wide variety of
lighting applications .The reading lamp consist of a small solar panel, a standard UPS style lead acid
battery and an LED circuit board. The circuit board consist of a low power solar charge
controller(regulator), a set of eight white LEDs, a switch, an LED current regulator and a low voltage
disconnect circuit. The circuit will ensure a long battery life by preventing over charging and excess
discharging.
