Foreword
Thank you for purchasing the TOPCON Electronic Total Station, GTS-210 series For th e best p e rfo rm a n ce o f th e instrum ents, please c a re fu lly read th ese instructions and keep them in a convenient location for fu tu re reference.

GENERAL HANDLING PRECAUTIONS

Do not subm erge the instrum ent into w a te r.
The instrum ent c a r not be sub-merged underwater. The instrum ent is designed based on the International Standard (IP Code) IPX 6, th erefo re it is protected ; rom the norm al shower or rainfall.

Setting the in stru m en t on a tripod

W hen m ounting the instrum ent on a tripod, use a wooden tripod w hen possible. The vibrations th a t m ay occur w hen using a metallic tri pod can effect the measuring precision.

Installing the tribrach

If the tr brac.h is installed incorrectly , the m easuring precision could be effected O ccasionally check the adjusting screws on the tribrach. Make sure the base fixing lever is locked and the base fixing screws are tightened.

G u ardin g the in strum en t against shocks

W hen transporting the instrum ent, provide some protection to m in im ize risk of shocks. Heavy shocks may cause the measurement to be faulty.

C arrying the in strum en t

A lw a ys carry the instrum ent by ts handgrip.

Exposing the in strum en t to extrem e heat.

Do not leave the instrum ent in extrem e heat for longer than necessary. It cou d adversely affect its perform ance.

Sudden changes o f tem perature

A ny sudden change o f tem perature to the instru m en t or prism m ay resu lt in a re d jc tio n o f measuring distance range, i.e w hen taking the instrum ent o ut from a heated vehicle. Let instrum ent acclim ate itself to am bient tem perature.

B a tte ry level check

Confirm battery leve rem aining before operating
