when a certain number'x' is multiplied by 18, the product 'y' has all digit as 4s.

what is the minimum number of digits 'x' can have?

18x = y All the digits of y are 4s 18 = 9*2 => to be divisible by 9,sum of all digits of y is divisible by 9 => (4 + 4 + 4 + ...) is divisible by 9 LCM of 9 and 4 is 36 so there must be zero or nine 4s to be divisble by 18 => 18x = (444...9 times) or 0 => x = 0 or 24691358

There are 'n' temples and each temple is having 'one' pond infront of it? At first we are having 'x' flowers,before entering in to the temple we have to be immersed in pond, if we immersed the count of flowers will be doubled, at each of the temple we should keep 'y' flowers and we should move to next temple? At last you should come out with zero flowers at the end of all temples. Find the x(number of flowers you take at first) and y(number of flowers you will keep in temple)? Hint: Answers will be in terms of 'n'?

very old puzzle. Number of flowers = (2^n)-1 number of flowers kept at each temple = 2^n Is this solution Helpfull? Yes (5) | No SHUBHAM AGRAWAL (8 DAY AGO)

i think the number of temple is 3(n) and the value of flower we take first is X = 7 . and the flower which we put in temple Y is 8. like i say first we take 7 after first pond it will 14 in which we give 8 in temple. with remaing 6 go to 2nd pond it become 12 again 8 will go to 2nd temple and finally with 4 flower enter in third pond ..so become 8 and we give all in last temple.. finally coming with no flower..

Is this solution Helpfull? Yes (2) | No (2)

ANKIT CHAUDHARY (8 DAY AGO)

i agree with shubham agarawal but i have a more ans that the no of temple is 2(the value of n) we take first time 9(the value of x) flowers. after first pond it will 18 we give 12(the value of y) in first temple and there are 6 remain.now after second pond flowers become 12 and we give whole in second temple. Is this solution Helpfull? Yes | No (2) M.R.KARTHEEK (7 DAY AGO)

hey Shubham and Ankit we cannot assume n as 3 that is not question, there are n temples and n ponds solve like that and answers are also in terms of n(like equation) not the values. in that answers if you substitute 3 you will get the answer, i want the answer in-terms of n.

the grup shud be form like a in one grrp and another group is b,c,d, such that difference b/w time taken by group to complete the work should be minimum. A = 2.25 days => 1 day = 1/2.25 = 0.44 work/day B = 4.5 days => 0.22 work / day C = 9 days => 0.11 work per day D = 18 days => 0.055 work / day

Is this solution Helpfull? Yes (1) | No (1)

ASHIWANI KUMAR (8 DAY AGO)

A = 2.25 days => 1 day = 1/2.25 = 0.44 work/day B = 4.5 days => 0.22 work / day C = 9 days => 0.11 work per day D = 18 days => 0.055 work / day

now add all 1 day work of b,c,d then we ll get 0.345 which is less than 1 days amit work...

so if we all add in amit's work the it will definetly increase the differnce so group form like, amit in a single group and another group consist of b,c,d Is this solution Helpfull? Yes (1) | No (1) ARNEET (7 DAY AGO)

Amit alone is faster group. other group is made of badri , chetan and Das. Amit can complete a piece of work in 2.25 days. so Amit's one day work = 4/9 Badri's one day work = 4/18 Chetan's one day work = 4/36 Das's one day work = 4/72 (B+C+D)'s one day work = 4/18+4/36+4/72= (4/9)*(1/2+1/4+1/8) = (4/9)*(7/8) i.e. 7/8 times of Amit's one day work. Is this solution Helpfull? Yes (1) | No VINAY SIPANI (8 DAY AGO)

61% 5% were in favour of all Let x% be in favour of A and B y% be in favour of B and C z % be in favour of A and C => 78 - 5 - (x + y + z) = (50-5-x-z) + (30-5-x-y) + (20-5-y-z) => (x + y + z) = 12% => (78 - (x+y+z)-5) = 61% favoured exactly one.

1st time = 20 ft 2nd time = 10ft down + 10 ft up 3rd time = 5ft up + 5ft down and so on Total distance travelled = 20 + (10 + 10) + (5 + 5) + (2.5 + 2.5) + . . . = 20 + (10 + 5 + 2.5 + ...) + (10 + 5 + 2.5 + ...) Assuming the ball comes to rest at infinity, Total distance travelled = 20 + [ 10/ (1 - 0.5) ] + [ 10/ ( 1 - 0.5) ] = 20 + 20 + 20 = 60 Is this solution Helpfull? Yes (4) | No AMIT KUMAR (3 DAY AGO)

using formula of impact, when any object is dropped from a height of h1 .it bounces back each time to a height which is h2.the total distance covered by object(it comes to rest) H= h1*(1+k)/(1-k), where k= squrt(h2/h1) h1=20, h2=10 ==> total distance H= 3*20= 60 feet.
