COMPUTERIZED ENROLLMENT SYSTEM OF DUPLAS NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL

Chapter I Introduction

Project Context Today, most establishment and institution in the country are already using Modern technologies for theme to be able to serve their clients fast and efficient. One of the most important sectors in our country is our educational institution where almost 10 Million students enrolled yearly. In line with this, it is better for a school to have a Computerized enrolment system instead of the traditional manual system to have an Efficient and faster enrolment operation and to use as an advantage over their counter. Part school especially schools that is located in metropolitan places. Aside from good Quality education, good services are also one of the factors looking by a new student. Because of the higher demand of education these days, The researcher decided to create a system for the enrollment process of Duplas National High School. The said school suffered problems on their enrollment process. It includes late enrollees and incomplete requirement.

Purpose and Description The administrator will easily update the record of enrollees on the particular enrollment period. And easily access all the functions of the proposed system. The teachers/staff will benefit for the said proposed system. In this system they did not spend longer time of the traditional enrollment process. The student also benefit for the enrollment system because they will not fill up a lot of enrollment slip to be process.

Objective of the Project The objective of the Duplas National High School Computerized Enrollment System.

Specifically: 1.To automate the enrollment process of the school,for the higher demand of technology in said school. 2.To make the enrollment easier and maintain the good processing of enrollment. 3.To save time and effort for all employees and students who enrolled. 4.To minimize time consuming of enrollment.

Scope and Limitation The proposed system covers the major processes in Duplas Natinal High School, namely: registration of the current and incoming students,assessment fees,billings,scheduling,files maintenance and reports needed. The proposed system would allow the Treasurer as the cashier. The Registration will process only the needs of user/enrollee; it provides copy for the enrollee. The registration can only authorize or manage the said system. The Treasurer/Cashier, provides copy of receipt in the enrollees and again the cashier only authorize in this field. The Administrator/Principal only access the whole system of enrollment.

CHAPTER II REVIEW OF LITERATURE Establishing ones career in todays competitive industries has become a challenging pursuit to most job seekers. Employers too are increasingly having difficulty finding the right person for the job. Too often, there remains a huge gap between the skills required by the industry and what a graduate has to offer. STI Enrollment System STI steps up to bridge this gap by introducing the Enrollment to Employment or E2E System. The E2E System is a complete approach to human resource development, which aims to develop ICT-enabled professionals through innovative learning and career planning methodologies. Through the E2E System, STI students get applicable education, job market skills, job preparedness, and job placement assistance. The first step is the Learning Systems Development which ensures that the curriculum content is up-to-date and job market-oriented. A group of exemplary professionals in various fields prepaRes the curriculum/curricula being taught in all STI campuses. To make sure that the courses being offered are carried out well, STI implements the Academic Delivery System. This guarantees that highly qualified faculty and the state-of-the-art facilities of campuses are at par with the standardized courseware and curriculum, thus providing world class learning across all STI campuses. The third step, Student Certification, assures that students are prepared for employment through rigid assessment, evaluation, and certificate programs. Before the students leave the security of their four-walled classrooms, they are given the opportunity to undergo on-the-job training with some of STIs reputable partner companies.

The review of literature and studies serve as a foundation of the researcher on their design proposal. Computerized enrollment system is very important in a private and public school. With these topic, the researcher were analyze the importance of having a Enrollment System to make a effective system and compatible.

CHAPTER III Methodology Research Design The software model used in the propose system, the Waterfall Model. Waterfall Model is the simplest, oldest and widely used process model. It consists of linear set of distinct phases. It is used for large systems engineering project. It was proposed by Royce in 1970.

Data Gathering Procedures The Researchers were able to gather data/information through interview. The Researcher interviewed the teachers who handle the enrollment process of the school. The school encountered some problems during enrollment like incomplete requirements and late enrollees. They did not allowed down payment, instead they are using installment, until the students paid their fees til the last grading period.

Source Data The study was held at Duplas National High School,located at Duplas,Sudipen,La Union. The total number of the students enrolled is 137. There are students from First Year(male-20,female-20),Second Year(male-20,female-13), Third Year(male-20,female16), Fourth Year(male-21,female-14).

The school is consist of 7 employees including the Administrative and Supervisory Works/Principal. They are(Mrs.Josephine V. Cac-Principal, Mrs.Agustina A. Onato-Librarian, Mrs.Mercedes B. Eufemia-First Year Adviser, Mrs.Precy C. GacadSecond Year Adviser,Mr.Mario B. Baagen-Third Year Adviser, Mr.Efren B. Notarte-Fourth Year Adviser and Ms.Miaflor A. Sunggay-contractual).

DATA GATHERING PROCEDURE Interview was the best tool for the researchers in gathering their information. A letter was prepared by the researchers for the approval of Executive Dean, the College Dean(College of Information Technology) and the Software Engineering Adviser,in order to gain information to the employees and students of the said school. The researcher conduct interview to the said school for the more information about their enrollment ,and also about the Teachers Schedule and Teachers Profile including the students schedule because it is also include as the users for these proposed system.

DOCUMENTATION AND SYSTEM DESIGN The data gathered from the said school was compiled by the researchers for the documentation and use as the design for the system. Likewise,this proposed system is suitable for large designing and managing the system.
