Cuepacs to submit
memo on pay revision
KUALA LUMPUR: Cuepacs will
prepare a memorandum on a
pay revision and review of the
various service schemes for
civil servants next month, its
general secretary Ahmad Shah
Mohd Zin said yesterday.
He said about 150 delegates
from all its 130 affiliates would
meet in Kuala Terengganu for
three days to prepare the
document. The actual date
of the conference will be an-
nounced later.
Ahmad said the last pay
revision in 2007 did not con-
form to the service schemes,
as such there were so many
anomalies.
“We hope to highlight the
anomalies in the memoran-
dum so that these can be
resolved during the next pay
revision.”
Indian national jailed, fined for
attempted bribery
KANGAR: An Indian national who
tried to bribe an anti-smuggling unit
(UPP) personnel with a gold chain and
RM1,050 was jailed six months and
fined RM10,000 by a sessions court here
yesterday.
Selvam Punithan, 31, of Redhill, Tamil-
nadu, pleaded guilty to committing the
offence at the arch at the Kedah-Perlis
border in Changlun at about 6.30am on
Feb 5.
