Warren launches NI Conservative Future Leadership campaign Deputy Chairman of NI Conservative Future, and Chairman of North Down and

Strangford NICF Simon Warren has announced his candidacy for leadership of NI Conservative Future in the upcoming regional elections. I wish to firstly express my thanks to the outgoing Chairman, Matt Robinson. Having worked closely with him as NICF was restructured from nothing, I can state without fear of contradiction that he poured a tremendous amount of effort into the organisation, taking it from a handful of members to a significant grouping within NI Conservatives. It is critical that we not let his work go to waste. I bring to the role experience at all levels of the Party, from the doorstep to the Party Board. I have served two terms in NICF, first as Chairman of the Down area, then North Down & Strangford, while serving as Deputy Chairman for Membership of the Regional executive, as well as Secretary of North Down Conservative Association. I currently sit on the Partys Justice Policy committee, and as NICFs representative on the Party Board, and have been involved in the organisation and action of recent electoral campaigns. My aims are simple: to build on the core principles of Conservative Future. I will ensure that NICF members are represented at all levels of the NI Conservatives, and continue to promote participation by NICF members in Party Area Executives and organisations such as Conservative Policy Forum. I will strengthen ties between NICF and the Party and ensure that NICF members will be aware, and encouraged, to participate in recruitment. We must show that Northern Irish youth rejects the old order of NI politics. We are the entity to do just that. I will encourage NICF members to become involved with their local or home-region Area Executives and stand in internal elections, to build experience of their own and to ensure that, as NI Conservatives expand, NICF will be there to offer aid and support. In 2014, this party faces possibly the most important elections in the history of Conservative involvement in Northern Ireland when polls open for local Councillors. We must prove ourselves at the polls, and NICF for the first time is in a position to make a huge impact not to mention to support our own members as they stand for elected office. I will promote NICF involvement in all campaigning across Northern Ireland in 2013 and beyond as we lay the vital groundwork for electoral success. That is not to say I believe everything should be about work. I will work closely with the Regional Executive for Northern Ireland to ensure all needs are met, to promote and produce a 12 month calendar of events, and to ensure that members and representatives of our flagship group at Queens University receive the encouragement and support they want and need to become the future leaders of the NI Conservative Party.
