IDB SPIRITUAL NURSING A. Biographic data The patients name is FRC. He is currently living at North Fairview. He is 61 years old.

He is separated with his wife. He is a college graduate in a course of BSBA. He doesnt have a work right now. His religious orientation is Roman Catholic. Last December 2011, FRC was diagnosed with multiple myeloma after seeing the result of his biopsy at FEU-NRMF Hospital. He is confined at the hospital many times after being diagnosed. He is undergoing chemotherapy since January 2012, four times a week. A. Environment According to patient, in their house they have bible, prayer book (Prayer for healing, Rosary for sacred heart of Jesus) and religious statues of Jesus Christ and Mama Mary with a rosary. He is also wearing a small crucifix in his neck. B. Behavior According to patient FRC, praying everyday is a religious routine of him. He said that, every three oclock in the afternoon he is having a rosary. He also offers short prayer before and after meal, and before going to sleep. He never gets angry even once to a religious representative as he verbalized, Pagdating sa religion, equal lang ang tingin ko dyan sa pananaw lang nagkakaiba, tulad ng mga anak ko ang dalawa ay Katoliko at ang isa ay Muslim, kahit kailan hindi ko sila pinagalitan o pinilit na lumipat sa katoliko dahil yun ang gusto nila. He also verbalized, Iba talaga nararamdaman ko sa pagiging Katoliko, tumatayo kasi balahibo ko dahil nararamdaman ko na talagang tinutulungan ako ng nasa itaas. While being confined in bed at the hospital the patient said that he meditate every now and then after that he always say this phrase, Jesus take care of me always. C. Verbalization After the incident happened that he was almost stabbed by his friend, his faith in God becomes stronger, during his hospitalization his faith on God strengthen that every time he close his eyes he will speak a prayer like, our father, apostles creed, and Hail mary and many more. He also mentioned about going to church, he said that he is does go to church person before but now that he is not permitted because of his current situation right now. He listen Sunday Mass through watching television and he is comfortable with that. Talking about death, FRC said that he is not afraid of dying anymore. He did not blame god for having a cancer right now as FRC verbalized, Lahat

ng nangyayari sa akin ngayon, alam ko na ito ay dahil sa aking kapabayaan noong araw. Inaabuso ko kasi dati ang aking sarili kaya ngayon ako sinisingil at ito ay aking pinagsisihan. Bahala na ang diyos sa akin kung kukunin niya ang aking buhay ok lang pero kung papahabain niya pa mas ok dahil mas may magagawa pa ako sa buhay. Affect and attitude FRC as of now does not appear lonely, depressed, angry, agitated, apathetic or preoccupied. FRC is happy as of now as he verbalized, Sa ngayon hindi ko iniisip ang sakit ko kasi kung iisipin ko mahihirapan lang ako. Dinadaan ko na lang sa tawa at pagiisip ng mga masayang bagay. Isa lang ang motto ko ngayon at iyon ay: LIVE, LAUGH, LOVE. Ang importante nabuhay ako ng Masaya at malaki ang pananalig Ko kay Jesus Christ. Interpersonal Relationship When the patient was hospitalized he said that he is not visited by his children because they are not here in Manila. They are staying with their own family and others are working abroad. As much as he wants, he would like to talk to his children but they have different lives right now, they are busy working and taking good care of their children. They just visit him seldom when they have time. Mr.FRC is always with his sister, her sister is the one taking good care for him. Her sister is the one who accompany him in check-ups.
