World Sabbath of Religions Reconciliation celebration Bharatiya Temple

1. We congratulated Jason and ourselves for the memorable experience of the benefit held at St. Dunstans on Sunday, January 20. What fun! We celebrated the first time through this kind of experience for all of us, and rededicated ourselves to further this aspect of the initiative. Jason was instructed to contact St. Dunstans and inquire about developing a similar arrangement for one of the following show show dates for their production of the Monty Python comedy Spamalot at St. Dunstans in their outdoor Greek theatre: May 31 & Jun 1, 7, 8, 9, 13, 14, 15, 20 We are definitely on a role with this idea! This first time through, we seem to have netted a modest $236, but we believe that this should be tripled next time. We agreed that the hospitality suite before the show was well worth the effort as it gave a kind of identity to our crowd. An important idea surfaced during the discussion. We want to purchase the online program Constant Contact, and utilize it for emails, scheduling, publicity, and marketing research for the initiative. Melissa graciously agreed to head up this project. She will be in touch with Jason, to confirm that we can use the 501(c)3 of First Foundation.. Once that is done, she will bring a report to the next steering committee meeting on Feb. 4. Cathy will help her with this project as needed. Thanks to both of these ladies! To reiterate: in terms of web presence, we now have/will have the following programs and leaders: Web page: Charles/Kevin Facebook: John Constant Contact: Melissa 2. We also reviewed and discussed in some detail the Summit flyers developed by the media department at Oakland University. It was agreed that Cathy will make some suggestions in the next day or two, and that these will be passed on to David Brooks in the media department of OU. The deadline for the flyers was reiterated: the first week of February. All materials for the flyer, including the final wording, logo, etc., must be in hand by Friday, January 25, in order to forward to the OU media department. 3. Several decisions were made about the Summit itself: a. A private reception/dinner will be held at Macaroni Grill with Richard Kearney, on Friday, 5-6:30pm. Olaf will check into particulars in terms of

securing a set-aside space in the restaurant for this event. This event will be open to invited guests only. b. The particulars of the Saturday evening theater event at First Congregational church was finalized as follows: 5:15-5:30pm 5:30-6:45pm 7-9:15pm 9:15-30pm Arrival at the church and seating for dinner Dinner with last 15 minutes of song Play in the Sanctuary Remarks concerning the play and hospitality

c. Prices for Saturday were finalized as follows: Summit at OU Dinner at First Congregational Play $15 $15 $10

Note: These are the three modules of Saturday, anyone can mix and match as they determine. Jason will contact the caterers used by First Presybyterian Birmingham, and Charles will contact Carrie about caterers used by First Congregational. A decision will be made at the next meeting in terms of which caterers work best for the dinner. 4. Olaf expressed his hopes and dreams for the first-ever Hospitality Workshop this coming Saturday. We all affirmed his abilities and gifts and look forward to experiencing this crucial piece of the initiatives agenda. 5. Diane expressed interest in promoting the development of Hospitality and 2hour seminars to be made available to religious congregations. Remember: We can continue solicitation of sponsors for the Summit at this point. The logos of the sponsoring institutions will appear on the brochure. A cost of $200 was set to have the logo appear in these materials. A presented by category is established for a donation of $1000 or more. On the other end of the spectrum, a category of patron is established at a figure of $20, designed primarily for private donations.
