COLLEGE OF ARCHITECTURE BASIC GUIDELINE FOR CHAPTER 6: DATA PRESENTATION

As an enhancement to the Thesis Program of UST College of Architecture, we are putting into a separate chapter the PRESENTATION, INTERPRETATION and ANALYSIS of the data gathered by the researcher. It shall be called: CHAPTER 6 DATA PRESENTATION (Presentation, Interpretation and Analysis of Data Gathered).

Rationale:
The Architectural Thesis is a complex research undertaking of fifth year students in the UST College of Architecture. As such, we take extra efforts to ensure that the students preparation of their terminal project is given the utmost attention of both the students and their corresponding thesis advisers. Putting into a separate chapter the presentation, interpretation and analysis of the data gathered during the course of the students research aims to enhance the research further and ensure the clear delivery of the message of the student regarding the feasibility of his / her research undertaking.

General Outline to be followed:


I. Introduction Devote a page or two describing / recapping the various research methods that you have undertaken (but not to be mistaken as Research Methodology Chapter [Chapter 3] ). II. Discussion of other Archival Materials essential to the project including its: Interpretation of said archival materials Critical Analysis of said archival materials Applicability to your project Implication to your project III. Discussion of the Observation Activity that you have performed for the project including its: Details of the Observation Activity (date, time, venue, aims of the observation activity, etc.) Interpretation of said observation activity

Critical Analysis of said observation activity Applicability to your project Implication to your project

IV. Discussion of the Interview Activity/ies that you have conducted including its: Details of the Interviews (date, time, person interviewed, venue, aims of the interview, etc.) Interpretation of said interview activity Critical Analysis of said interview activity Applicability to your project Implication to your project

V. Discussion of the Survey Activity that you have conducted including its: Detail of the Survey (date, time, samples surveyed, aim/s of the survey, etc.) Interpretation of said survey Critical Analysis of said survey Applicability to your project Implication to your project

VI. Discussion of the Case Study/ies that you have conducted including its: Detai/sl of the Case/s that you have studied (name of building, location, aim/s of the case study etc.) Critical Analysis of the case study Applicability to your project Implication to your project

Conclusion Conclude this chapter expressing why the said factual data that you have gathered, discussed, analyzed, applied to your work are essential to your thesis / project
