The Heritage & The Hope

June 9 to 21, 2013 Israels unmatched history, archaeological treasures and cultural attractions make it an essential destination for religious pilgrims and secular travelers alike. Explore Jerusalem, a walled hilltop city with a fabled 5,000-year past, sacred to more than a third of the world's population. In Bethlehem, Galilee and across the countryside, retrace Biblical events and learn about ancient civilizations and unique modern communities. Israel is as beautiful as it is fascinating and you will be struck by the majestic deserts, rolling hills and picturesque coastlines. Unlock ancient history at Megiddo National Park, where Vanderbilt is a partner in the excavations and you will meet the school affiliated scientists.
"And yet what one discovers in every region of Israel is the tremendous depth of its history. By its very position on the map, and by its place in the heritage of the world's three great religions, Israel has been for millennia the great intersection of Western and Eastern civilizations. Robert Fure, Ph.D. Lexington, VA, Mar 2011

ISRAEL

I had faith in Israel before it was established, I have in it now. I believe it has a glorious future before it not just another sovereign nation, but as an embodiment of the great ideals of our civilization. Harry S. Truman
