Youth League Wrap Up

It was a great weekend of youth hockey with all games being close encounters!

Red Devils vs Assassins (3-3): The

opening game was a close one with the Yujoe stepping into net for the Red Devils and making some vital saves. Zachary Ho scored all 3 goals for the Assassins. The Assassins went into the break 2-1 up but failed to hang onto the lead with Vinson Li scoring 2 second period goals. Sharks vs. Charges (4-1). The Sharks had a full bench for this one with their opposition only having 2 on the bench. The Sharks out shot and out hustled their opponents going up 3-0 in the first period. The Sharks found it hard to score in the second period but Yujoe found a way past Titus Li in goal and made the score 4-0. The Charges scored a consolation goal with 27 seconds remaining in the second period. Flash vs. 10U Dragons (2-1) Another tight game saw the Dragons lead the first period 1-0 for 14minutes with a goal from Zach Ho, however with 50 seconds left on the clock Kyle Wong scored for flash to tie the game at the break. The second period was tight, with Tom woods playing outstanding in goal, facing 17shots. With 5 minutes left, Marco Yan scored the game winning goal for the Flash. Rockets vs. 10U Dragons (3-2): The Dragons backed up for their second straight game and were involved in another tight game. The teams went into the break in a dead lock at 2-2. Tom woods once again having a standout game, facing 17 shots, was keeping his team in the game as the Dragons only got 8 shots on goal. They couldnt find the goal they needed and Ernest Chan scored with 3 minutes left in the game to seal the victory. 12U Sidewinders vs. 12U Dragons (5-1): The Sidewinders came to the game ready to shoot in this one as King stepped into net for the Dragons and faced 35 shots. Tim Kobler picked up 3 points in this one with Marco Yan being the sole goal scorer for the Dragons. Scorpions vs. 12U Dragons (5-1): The Dragons were out for revenge in this one but it wasnt to be as they couldnt get enough shots on net managing only 3, King stayed in net again for the Dragons facing 22 shots. Scorpions vs. 12U Dragons (5-1): Both teams stayed on their benches as they played each other again in the catch up game. The Scorpions scored 5 first period goals but were un-able to beat King in the second period. Wayne Tsang scored for the 12U team as they took the second period. 14U Dragons vs. Jerry (5-3): It was another tight 1st period 14U Dragons vs. Lewis (4-3): The Dragons were on the with Jerrys team being up 1-0 at the break. However, the Dragons re-focused during the break and stopped chatting on the bench, and put on 5 second period goals to take the win.

Team Lewis worked their way back into the game with Lewis scoring twice in the period to take the lead however, goals from Justin Cheng and Keith Tsang gave the Dragons their second win of the day.

Athletes of the Week


This award goes to the High School Dragons, who took out the National Division playoffs winning the series 2-0. They were also the league champions. Congratulations.
