WHAT DO CATHOLICS MEAN BY THE WORDS PIOUS "ASPIRATIONS" OR "INVOCATIONS"?

Aspirations are short prayers, which are memorized and repeated throughout the day. They serve to remind one that God is close, always listening, always watching and dwelling within. God is only an interior glance away every single second of our life. Each person should pick one or two according to their preferences. These short prayers are used to train and discipline the mind to turn to God throughout the day while one is fulfilling normal duties or when one is going through difficult trials. The discipline of using short prayers becomes as normal and habitual as breathing. It is spiritual breathing, and the ultimate goal serves as a means to unite oneself with God at all times. Over time, the awareness of God's abiding presence becomes continuous. The soul becomes so intimately united with God that every breath becomes one with the breath of God who dwells within and one can say with St. Paul, "It is not I who live, but Christ who lives in me." "O my Jesus, transform me into Yourself, for You can do all things." St. Faustina Be not afraid, where you go there I am with you
