And when My servants ask you, [O Muhammad], concerning Me - indeed I am near.

I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me [by obedience] and believe in Me that they may be [rightly] guided. [al Baqarah 2:186]

And your Lord says, "Call upon Me; I will respond to you." Indeed, those who disdain My worship will enter Hell [rendered] contemptible. [al Ghaafir 40:60] The Quran tells us

Is God not enough for His servant? [39:36]

Whenever any trouble befalls a person, he prays to Us all the time, lying on his side, sitting or standing; but when We remove his trouble, he goes on his way as if he had never prayed to Us for the removal of his trouble. Thus it is that the doings of the transgressors are made to look fair to them.[Yunus 10:12] -Abu Hurairah R.A. narrates that Allah's Messenger peace and blessings be upon him said, "In the court of Allah, there is no greater thing than duaa" [Narrated by Ibn-e-Majah] -On the authority of Abu Hurairah (radi allahu anhu) who said: The Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said: Allah the Almighty is Good and accepts only that which is good. And verily Allah has commanded the Believers to do that which He has commanded the Messengers. So the Almighty has said: O (you) Messengers! Eat of the Tayyibaat [all kinds of Halaal (legal) foods], and perform righteous deeds. [23:51] and the Almighty has said: O you who believe! Eat of the lawful things that We have provided you [2:172] Then he mentioned [the case] of a man who, having journeyed far, is dishevelled and dusty, and who spreads out his hands to the sky saying O Lord! O Lord!, while his food is Haraam (unlawful), his drink is Haraam, his clothing is Haraam, and he has been nourished with Haraam, so how can [his supplication] be answered ?! [Narrated by Muslim] READ DUA OF MUHAMMAD

BROTHER HAMID TOLD ME A STORY THAT I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE WITH YOU. He said when he came to the masjid on Sunday he saw that the door was beautifully painted and he said usually I would know anyone working in the masjid because hes in charge of maintenance. But this time he couldnt tell who did it. So he went to check the security camera and found out that it was his neighbor who is NOT MUSLIM! He had come at 8 in the morning and waited till the mosque opened up at 10 am for students and then sanded and paint the door. Hamid said when I called him to ask what made him do this, he replied, THAT FOR THE PAST 2 YEARS I HAVE DRIVEN BY THIS MOSQUE AND IT HAS IMPROVED A LOT. I THOUGHT I COULD DO MY PART AS A PAINTER AND PAINT THE DOOR. THIS IS A NON MUSLIMS PERSON AND EVEN HE FELT THE NEED TO HELP THE MASJID. SHAME ON US THAT WE GO IN AND OUT EVERY WEEK AND FORGET FIXING THINGS, WE DONT EVEN ASK WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE.
