Making my presentation interesting. In order for me to start my presentation, I should be prepared using the same principles of considering audience and rhetorical purpose. A presentation on a project in an undergraduate class, for example, seeks to reach the professor first and fellow students second. Its purpose is to get a good grade by impressing people that a quality project was done. Thus, methods should be described in must more detail than for a conference talk. 1. I must speak loudly and clearly Since my audiences have one chance to hear my speech, I have to speak loudly and clearly so that my audiences will not get confused. In many situations, they have or will hear several talks on the same day. Being clear is particularly important if my audience can't ask questions during the presentation. There are two well known ways to communicate my points effectively. The first is to K.I.S.S. (keep it simple stupid). Focus on getting one to three key points across. I have to think about how much I remember from my speech last week if I had. Second, repeat key insights: I will tell them what I am going to tell them (Forecast), and I will make clear summary at the end of my presentation. 2. I have to think about my audience My audiences should be addressed in layers: some are experts in your sub-area, some are experts in the general area, and others know little or nothing. I have to think who is most important to me to and make them understand. At the same time I cannot leave others with nothing. For example, I will pitch my body to experts, but I make the forecast and summary accessible to all my audiences. 3. I have to think about my rhetorical goals For my presentation, I recommend two rhetorical goals: I will leave my audience with a clear picture of the gist of my contribution, and make them want to read my paper. presentation should not replace my paper, but rather whet the audience appetite for it. Therefore, it is commonly useful to allude to information in the paper that cannot be covered adequately in my presentation. 4. I have to make sure that the title of my speech is catchy I have to make sure my presentation title is catchy my audiences and that they will be looking forward to it even before my presentation. 5. I will prepare a week before. You should have been thinking of themes and points, noting down ideas and sources, crafting phrases and sentences. 6. I should have finalized my notes or text or slides at least the day before I have to finalize my materials so that I can concentrate on presenting and the material and I will feel very familiar and comfortable with it. 7. I have to introduce my biography in detail. This means that, to some extent I can have won or lost my audience even before I really into my speech. If my audiences think I am going to be good, them to perceive me as good. So my biographical details must be this can influence them. Conversely, if my audiences think I make them to seeing me as poor. So I will never I am unsure for some materials. 8. I have to pause for a couple of moments before actually starting my presentation. I have to take sometimes to take a deep breath and to get my audiences attention before I move on to the next slides 9. If I am not using a microphone introduces am

10. If I am using a microphone I will to speak at normal volume, but a little more slowly and distinctly than if I am

not using amplification. I will not move around because will leave the microphone behind 11. I have to alter my speed, volume and tone. Speaking slower or faster and quieter or louder and being more cheerful or more serious all adds dramatic effect and keeps the attention of my audience. 12. I have to sweep my eyes I will have to keep my eyes moving to left-centre-right and back and front-middle-rear and back, so that I engage all members my audience. 13. Never apologies for your nervousness or your material. I and my speech are probably better than I appreciate but, in any event, if I do not advertise any weaknesses in my style or content, my audiences probably will not be noticed. 14. Must have a very clear structure. A good technique is to tell my audience what I am going to say. A good structure is the core message to be three linked points which can be sub divided as necessary. for

15. I have to be very clear about how much time I have I have to stick to my time in preparing my presentation. It is very difficult to cut a PowerPoint presentation at the event itself, so it is a great mistake to run out of make short presentation. 16. I am going to use little humor to attract my audiences. I will make some short funny story or little jokes to during my presentation so that my audiences will not fall asleep. 17. Some illustration will be appropriate to use. In every slides I have, I will put at least one illustration for example some comic pictures which I think related to my words and able to catch my audiences attention. Conclusion. It is a matter of preference whether I do this at the beginning of my presentation or at the end. If my audiences have copies at the beginning, they can take notes simply by annotating the slides, instead of having to note down all the information on the slides. On the other hand, I might feel that, if they can see in advance the slides I am going to use, I lose the element of control my presentation. It might depend on the content of the presentation. If I am going to show detailed tables or graphs with lots of figures, my audience will probably find it easier to have a copy on their lap. It might depend on the circumstances of the presentation: if there is a large audience, people at the back may not be able to see the screen clearly and would really appreciate having copies of the slides. time. People prepare many slides until they run out of time to present, but actually no one complaints about
