3. Chart Steps / Phase (time) Set Induction (7 minutes) Field trip to Science Garden. Contents Teaching and Learning activities Teacher divides students into 6 groups of 5. Each group has to find a place to sit at science garden. Teacher ask: a) Children, what can you see around you? Expected answers: Plants Flowers Pond Grass Fish Tortoise Butterfly Grasshopper Tadpole Snail Birds Precaution: Students must stay in the group all the time. Do not make noise. Teacher asks students to go back to the class and sit in the group given. (Students will start to analysze 2 Teacher constructs students to list out 10 things they can see in the science garden for 2 minutes. (Students list down the things they can see in a group). Allow students to look at the tadpole in the pond. b) Could you see the animals at the Science Garden? c) Could you find the tadpole in the pond? activities Teacher asks the students to display the life cycles that they did before for discussion with friends. Teacher shows pictures of the life cycle of a chicken, butterfly, frog and mosquito. Teacher asks the students: What is the life cycle shows? What does the animal undergo different stages in their life cycle? Teacher showing through the slide show with content knowledge relate to the lesson. Materials: Teacher asks students: Do you look like your parents? (time) Application (15 minutes) Students need to complete the worksheet that has been given in a groups. Expected answer: (a) The body shape of a caterpillar is very different from a butterfly. Unlike a butterfly, a caterpillar does not have wings. (b) Larva (Caterpillar) Group activities
