Study DSP in 12 Days
Study DSP in 12 Days
DAY DAY 1 this is a general help for students and for self study you may study it in 12 consecutive days or once in 12 days or extend each days portions to two days etc. pl refer to syllabus, class notes, assignments, previous years question paper etc PORTION Introductio n, properties of signals and systems WHAT TO STUDY Definitions: frequency response, transfer function, impulse response etc. Properties of signals- even/odd, causal, energy/power, deterministic/random ,p eriodic/non-periodic etc and properties of system-stability, linearity, causality, memory, time invariance. study the conditions for a system to be stable, causal, memory, time-invariance and linear wherever possible in terms of impulse response and frequency response Definition, properties, problems ACTION PLAN Prepare a small chart in a college notebook paper. stick it somewhere you study. browse through it every morning, trying to byheart it.
DAY 2
DTFT
DAY 3
DIT FFT and DIF FFT- structure, properties, problems Upsampling and downsampling- what happens it time and frequency domain, decimator and interpolator Types of design, steps and problems
DAY 7 DAY 8
Learn the proof of properties, Solve problems. write a table of properties of DTFT Learn the proof of properties, Solve problems. write a table of properties of DTFS and DFT Solve problems and get it thorough Learn the equations and figures by drawing the waveforms (be cool) Solve problems. study properties of each type. try to find questions in previous years question papers Solve problems. study lattice structures from Proakis/Ramesh Rao. Solve problems. study properties of each type. try to find questions in previous years question
DAY 9
DAY 10 DAY 11
Definitions, features, examples Architecture, instruction set( overview/special ones),addressing modes of TMS, Motorola,Analog devices(ADSP) systems (learn whatever you can) Heart beat monitoring, foetal heart beat monitor etc from Ifeachor
papers Compare FIR and IIR systems. Solve problems. study lattice structures from Proakis/Ramesh Rao. study finite wordlength effects, quantiser effects, saturation overflow, zero limit cycles etc Make a note of features. Study the examples well Learn block diagrams. addressing modes, important features etc. Study about barrel shifter Learn block diagrams of systems and how DSP is used
DAY 12 DAY 13
