    Missouri pitcher Eric Anderson has made a remarkably quick recovery from Tommy John surgery in May 2012 and is set to start for the Tigers this weekend. Anderson previously underwent shoulder surgery in 2010 but returned in 2011, until needing Tommy John surgery in 2012. His coach attributes the fast recovery to Anderson's experience with rehabbing injuries previously. Anderson will be the first to admit the mental challenges of overcoming fears and doubts during his recovery. He has adopted a new mindset seeing his injuries as a "blessing in disguise," making him stronger and less likely to be re-injured. His recent medical redshirt also allows the possibility of him returning for another season if he is drafted professionally as expected.

    ThatlackofsetbackshaspushedAndersontoanuncharacteristicallyquickrecoveryfroman injurythatusuallyrequiresatleastayearofrecoverytime.MissouricoachTimJamieson attributedthesuccessfulrecoverytoAndersonsexperiencewithrehabbingamajorinjury. Thisbeinghissecondrehabinsomewaysisablessingbecausealotofitsmental,Jamieson said.Hekindofalreadymadethatadjustmentbecauseofhisfirstrehab,soitsbeenpretty smooth.
