AGRICULTURAL IMPLEMENTS
1. Introduction :- The extent of present day use of agriculture machinery in a basically agricultural country like ours needs no introduction. Apart from various agricultural implements, power operated agricultural machinery such as maize Sheller for removing the grains from maize cobs, seed cleaners, used for small lots of seed for cleaning-cumgrinding. Rice Polisher and seed treaters are some other agricultural machines which have field application in agriculture. The project profile envisages the manufacture of following agricultural implements per annum. Wheat & Rice threshers up to 5 hp motive power and other machineries However, the product portfolio can be changed keeping in view the market requirements. 2. Market Potential :- The agricultural industry has always been the backbone of Indias sustained growth. Over the past two decades there has been a tremendous move towards mechanization of the agricultural industry in India driven by increase in power availability on the Indian farms from 30% to 70%. As the population of India continues to grow, the demand for produce grows as well. Hence, there is a greater need for multiple cropping on the farms and this in turn requires efficient and high-capacity machines. Mechanization of the Agricultural industry in India is still in a stage of infancy. Increased Government subsidies and the migration of the labor resources to fields like construction have created an enormous market for farm machinery and equipment. The farmers still largely rely on primitive tools, cattle and manual labor to work around the fields, owing primarily to the lack of knowledge and the unavailability of advanced tools and machinery. The Government of India, owing to the decrease in Agricultural Growth rate over the past few years (1.6% in 2008-09 to 0.2% in 2009-10), has set up plenty of schemes (National Food Security Mission, Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna, ISOPOM etc) in an effort to increase the growth rate of Agriculture. Subsidies of up to 70-90% are being offered on the price of equipment such as Irrigation Equipment, Power Tillers, Rice Trans planters, Rotavetors, Zero Till Seed Drills etc. Recently Govt. of Rajasthan & other states has also floated tenders for purchase of Agriculture Equipments. 2.1. Demand :- At present in the Rajasthan there are very few industries who are manufacturing the good quality. equipments using proper machines. There products do not fall within the BIS quality Parameters. Majority of the producers are using crude method with old machines. AS now demand of the govt. sector has arises, there is a scope for entrepreneurs to setup industries having latest machine and testing equipments and producing products with good quality. Further with the introduction of Maha- NAREGA scheme, the quantity of Irrigated land will also increase and proportionately the demand of agricultural equipment will increase. based on the above, it is quite justified to setup an industry manufacturing agricultural equipment. 3. BASIS AND PRESUMPTIONS;
(1) The scheme is based on single shift of 75% efficiency considering 8 working hours/day, 25 days/month and 300 days per annum. (ii) Labour wages has been taken as per market rate. It is likely to vary depending upon the location of the project. (iii) Rate of interest has been taken 12% on an average on fixed and working capital. It is likely to vary due to financial outlay and the location of the unit. (iv) The operative period of the project is estimated to be about 10 years considering technology obsolescence. (v) Value of machinery & equipment is estimated on the basis of prevailing cost of the local mkt.

v) POLLUTION CONTROL REQUIREMENT : There is no pollution control requirement for the item. vi) ENERGY CONSERVATION : The following steps may be taken for the conservation of energy : 1 Machinery and equipments, parts are revolving and reciprocating should be properly lubricated from time to time with suitable lubricant. 2 Lay out of unit should be in such a way that there is no back tracking of material. 3 All the electrical switches may be kept off when not in use. 4 Proper ventilation system should be kept during construction of building for maximum utilization of solar energy and day light may be used by keeping all other lights off. 5 Fluorescent tube with electronic chokes should be used for energy saving. Further, recently development compact fluorescent tubes called (CFT) of 10W, 15W Philips/Glaux make may be used for energy saving and decoration These self ballast fluorescent lamps are high efficiency replacements of ordinary bulbs.
