CECO MC-40 GOVERNOR, BYPASS VALVE AND SLEE~VE ASSEMBLY-REWORK PLANNING INFORMATION: EFFECTIVITY: All P/N 6890905 (CECO P/L 104100A9) and P/N 6891455 (CECO P/L 104100A9-A8) Governor Assemblies prior to Serial No. 5AAD3976 (approximately). All P/N 6890906 (CECO P/L 104500A4) and P/N 6891456 (CECO P/L 104500A4-A3) Multi-engine Application Governor Assemblies prior to Serial No. 5ACK529 (approximately). REASON: To improve the contamination resistance of the governor bypass valve and sleeve assembly, the 0.015-in. chamfer classification in the valve sleeve body is changed to the sharp, clean edge classification. The bypass valve-sleeve body may be reworked by refacing the 0.30 ID to a depth of 0.085 in. to provide the sharp clean edge.

BYPASS VALVE AND SLEEVE ASSEMBLY-REWORK

INSTRUCTIONS:

Rework CECO P/N 97699 Governor Bypass Valve and Sleeve Assembly to provide the sharp, clean edge in the sleeve body as follows: A. Reface the depth of the 0.30-in. ID in the sleeve body from 0.07/O. 06 to 0.085/O. 075 (see Figure 1). Finish surface to 32 rms. Inspect sleeve body for sharp, clean edge (was O-015-in. radius). Ultrasonically clean sleeve body. Reidentify reworked governor bypass valve and sleeve assemblies as P/N 102239 by tagging or marking container.

Reidentify reworked power turbine governor assemblies using l/8-in. number and letter punches as follows: Old DDA P/N 6890905 6890906 6891455 6891456 Old CECO P/N 104100A9 104500A4 104100A9-A8 104500A4-A3 New DDA P/N 6892854 6892855 6892871 6892872 New CECO P/N 104100AlO 104500A5 104100AlO-A8 104500A5-A3
