Dear Mayor: I am writing to you today as a concerned citizen of Bonifacio Street. It has come to my attention that you recently proposed a measure that would outlaw skateboarding on sidewalks in Bonifacio. As a citizen who loves skateboarding and the head of Bonifacios skateboarding club, I must ask you to reconsider this proposed law. You have stated in press conferences that you believe skateboarding is an inherently unsafe activity. This is untrue. There are many responsible skateboarders in this world who wear helmets and treat pedestrians and drivers with respect. You have also stated that you believe skateboarders are often involved in drug cultures. This is also untrue. Skateboarding is a sport, and like all sports, interests many different kinds of people. As your basic points of argument are incorrect, I believe your desire to outlaw skateboarding is likewise logically misguided. Please reconsider your bias against skateboarding and withdraw this law from consideration. If you require any further clarification on this issue, please call me at 555-555-5555. I was so sorry to hear of Peters death, and I would like to extend my deepest condolences on behalf of the entire management and staff of Peniero Equipment Company. Your husband was a respected director and trusted employee of our company and he will be sadly missed by all of us who knew and worked with him. Peter set the standard for our company. His 29 years of solid dedication to service and his devotion to ethics and integrity made him a team leader unlike any other. He was a fair and industrious manager and a man who was respected by colleagues, associates and competitors alike. Peter as you know, always played an active role in team building and social interaction within our company. He has many friends here who will miss his beach barbecues and rum punch parties.
