Kovalam-A Tourist Paradise in Kerala

An overview Kovalam is an internationally renowned tourism destination in Kerala, India. It is a combination of three adjacent crescent beaches, namely Lighthouse Beach, Hawah Beach and Samudra Beach. It has17 km of coastline separated by rocky hills. Kovalam has been a favorite haunt of tourists, especially Europeans since 85 years back. This coastal village is covered by rocky hills and Coconut lagoons. Lighthouse Beach Due to the old Vizhinjam Lighthouse located here on a rocky promontory, the Lighthouse Beach got its name. The Light House Beach is the largest among the three beaches. Samudra Beach Samudra beach is at the Nortern part of Kovalam, a large promontory separates this part from the other side. Large crowd visitors as in other two beaches are not seen here.
