NATRAN PATRAN 2011

This tutorial presents how to make an analysis with Natran Patran. Information: Platform: Window 8 64 bit Software: Natran Patran 2011

ABOUT
This software use finite element method to solve many problem in CFD, such as structure problem. Pre Processing: (by Patran) o Input: Modeling, material, boundary condition, force, section area sharp Processing: (by Nastran) o Solve problem with finite element method. Post Processing: (by Patran) o Show results.

INSTALL
If you havent never used software from MSC Company, the way installing software may be make you confuse. I hope this tutorial will help you to enjoy it. 1. Mount iso disk to virtual disk

2. Create folder C:\MSC.Software\MSC.Licensing\11.9 3. Copy all file from folder MAGNiTUDE to folder 11.9

4. Run file MSC_Cals_20111130 After it finish, you will see a license.dat in this folder. Open this file with notepad software you will see your computer name, computer id. Example SERVER VAN_TRONG 002219e6967d 27500 Computer name Computer id Server number 5. Run file msc_licensing_11.9_windows3264.exe When it need a license, you point to license.dat in folder 11.9. Note that: when you browse to find license.dat, you must change type of file in to *.dat 6. Run MSC.Licensing Utility that you have just install

Chose tab Start/Stop/Reread

Then click ReRead License File

Then Stop Server

Then Start Server

At this time, you had license for this software. You can use this way to restart you license if have any problem with license when you use Nastran Patran. 7. Set environment for Nastran Patran Computer > Right Click > Property

Choose Change settings > Tab Advanced > Environment Variables

Click New at tab System variables

This format 27500@VAN_TRONG depends on value in file license.dat that you create above.

8. Run file name setup.exe (Nastran)

9. When it ask license, point to license.dat in folder: C:\MSC.Software\MSC.Licensing\11.9 10. Similarly, you mount m-mpa 11a (32 bit), m-mpa 11b (64 bit). Then set up normally, point to license.dat if it requires, use id in license.dat to fill some field in installing progress.
