Myazedi inscription
was inscribed by Prince
Rajakumara, son of
King Kyansittha, in four
languages in Mon, Pali,
Pyu and Burmese in
AD 1113.
It tells the story of King
Kyanzitthas deathbed
reconciliation with his
estranged son, whom
he had disinherited by
a peace-producing
compromise of 1084
that had helped end the
bloodletting between
the Burmese and Mon
kingdoms.
Myazedi inscription
was one of the earliest
writings discovered so
far in the history of Burmese literature and the
Pyu was the last.
