LADWP is replacing a 60-inch water pipeline under Coldwater Canyon Ave. as part of its ongoing City Trunk Line replacement project. The next construction phase will require the full closure of Coldwater Canyon Ave. in order to complete the work as quickly and safely as possible. A critical element of the LADWP water distribution system, the pipeline is 99 years old and is being replaced with a new welded steel pipeline that is expected to last for another century.

Starting March 9, 2013:

There will be no left turn from Coldwater Canyon Ave. north or south onto Ventura Blvd.

Starting March 23, 2013:

Coldwater Canyon Ave. will be closed from Ventura Blvd. to Mulholland Drive Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. through April 25, 2013, or such time that the work is completed. LADWP crews will work six days a week, Monday through Saturday. During non-working hours, Coldwater Canyon Ave. will have one lane open in each direction from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. on Monday through Friday and after 6 p.m. on Saturday. During non-working hours, there will be no left turn from Coldwater Canyon Ave. north or south onto Ventura Blvd. Portions of the trunk line to be removed and replaced are located between Dickens St. and Hacienda Dr., where most of the work will occur. LADWP is working with residents, schools, churches and other businesses to allow local access during the time the road is closed. LADWP is working closely with the office of City Councilmember Paul Krekorian, as well as community groups and others, to ensure that their concerns and issues are addressed to the extent possible.
