PayPal is a collaborative tool being used as a payment method. It works as an agent between payment sender and payment receiver. The sender provides funds to their account and send payment from the account through PayPal. The receivers must approve the payment through PayPal in order to complete the transaction. This process by PayPal provides convenience for the senders, it also protects the receiver from fraud.

Collaborative Tool
Sprat Theatre Company Google Docs
My theatre company uses Google Docs to share and edit documents collectively. For example, the script, the collective budget, and contact information. It is a great way to share information online and collectively edit.

Future?
I would like to find a way to use this collaborative tool in person, rather than on the interweb. Possibly a way to collaborate during a production meeting about what we plan to do in the future. Or how to spend the budget. Essentially a tactile Google Doc that is structured by good collaborative conversations.

Collaborative Tool: Facebook

content is communicated and shared Platforms for social media are examples of a collaborative tool. It is a social tool, therefore inherently a collaborative tool. There are many ways in which facebook is used as a collaborative tool such as: - Groups - Messages/threads - Status updates, etc. Facebook is a way for information, legitimate or not, to be shared. That is only the beginning of a collaboration. Users can choose to remain more private but it takes effort and more thought to do so, because the way facebook is designed is for public use by default. So once a user shares, viewers can make comments and the collaboration is free to move anywhere. As long as there is activity and input, the collaboration is active and alive.

Situationist Drive The drive is an act of drifting through an urban landscape without a destination or task to be accomplished. The individual allows for the aesthetic experience and spontaneous interactions to guide where they go. The intent of the exercise if to discover new types of experiences with the urban environment and to have meetings with unexpected people and to be an aware witness of the city.

When a hit-and-run crime in Virginia left a woman dead, the only evidence the police had to start with was a piece of the front grill broken off the drivers vehicle. Auto blog Jalopnik posted a picture of the broken piece of grill, and asked for help identifying the vehicle. Many of the sites readers are automotive devotees who know everything there is to know about any auto, and they were able to successfully identify the year, make and model of the vehicle. Police used the information to lead them to further evidence supporting the use of the same vehicle, which lead them to find and arrest two suspects. Although the crime was committed in just a few seconds with hardly anybody around, the physical evidence left behind was paired with the correct community - a group of people who pride themselves on vehicles and their intricacies - and led the police to the suspects. Collaborative, crowd sourced mystery-solving is not new, but will only get more successful as computers and the internet become more accessible. http://jalopnik.com/5903407/police-arrest-murder-suspects-in-truck-identified-by-jalopnik-commenters

Collaborative Tool: Google Docs Google Docs is a web-based word processor that enables user collaboration on text documents, spreadsheets and presentations. Documents can not only be created, uploaded and shared with other users but there is also the option of peer editing as well. Users have control over privacy settings for each document, therefore deciding who is allowed to access what information. In addition ,users can also GChat while editing the same document; Google Docs will issue a warning when a change has been made to a file.

Facebook
Facebook works as a collaborative tool because of the interconnectedness this website provides. Without the collaboration of friends and family, through the website itself, one would find it, unfortunately, difficult to connect with people across the internet. The process begins when the users of such a site log on, decide to communicate with other cyber humans and interact, all through the collaborative tool of Facebook.

parsons dress forms

dress forms are three dimensional models of the human torso and are used for designing garments. designers use dress forms in order to fit or drape fabric before its final stage because it helps them envision how it would appear on an actual human body and allows them to alter the design accordingly. at parsons dress forms are assigned to students that take construction classes. however, multiple students are usually assigned to each dress form. This makes it very difficult for students to work outside of class on the dress form they have been working on and leads them to find another one, which probably has been assigned to somebody else.
