Organizational Unit: Plant Breeding, Genetics, and Biotechnology
Basic Purpose
To conduct on-farm experiments to identify (1) issues pertaining to crop
management-crop health relationships and (2) solutions for crop health management
Responsibilities
• Assist internationally recruited and associate scientists in designing
experiments
• Supervises the implementation of field work and related activities
• Collects field data on pest injury levels and crop growth
• Creates and maintains databases and analyzes data
• Prepares reports and presentations

• Supervises research technicians and kabesilya workers and coordinate with

farmers
• Performs other activities that may be assigned from time to time by the
internationally recruited scientists
Requirements
Minimum
• BS (Plant Pathology, Botanical Ecology, Agronomy, Entomology, or related
fields)
• At least 1 year experience in related field
• Must have a good knowledge of crop sciences
• Exposure to multidisciplinary work would be a strong asset
• A working knowledge in data processing and statistical analysis using
computer software
• Experience in crop science experiments is desired
