Normandy Region On June 6, 1944, Allied troops landed on the beaches of Normandy, launching the campaign that eventually liberated mainland Europe from the Nazis. Monuments, museums, bunkers and cemeteries are a living commemoration to the Battle of Normandy. Visit Beny-sur-Mer Canadian War Cemetery, the final resting place for brave Canadian soldiers that fought in this battle. Learn more about history at the Juno Beach Centre, which honours the war effort made by all Canadians, civilian and military alike, both at home and on the various fronts during the Second World War.

D-Day Beaches of Normandy Normandy, France Paris Bonjour Paris! During your sightseeing in the City of Light, get a taste of Parisian style as you ride down the Champs-lyses, an elegant boulevard packed with high-fashion boutiques. Pass the Place de la Concorde and the Arc de Triomphe and strike a pose in front of the Eiffel Tower. At the cole Militaire, see where a promising young Napoleon launched his rise to power. Visit the renowned Louvre, where I.M. Peis iconic glass pyramid marks the entrance to treasures like Leonardo da Vincis Mona Lisa. Then, travel to the Notre Dame Cathedral and admire its sculptured faade, stained-glass rose windows and seemingly weightless vaulted ceilings. Louvre Paris, France

Vimy Ridge The Battle of Vimy Ridge, where Canadian soldiers fought as a single unit to gain victory over German troops, is the event from which Canada emerged as a nation. Learn about the momentous victory that was won on April 12, 1917. Visit the hard-fought battleground and walk through the trenches where our brave soldiers once stood. Stand by the Vimy Memorial, built so we will never forget and always have a place to pay our respects to the generation ushered in Canadas Coming of Age.
