o o o o A nationwide celebration and a movement toward more healthy, affordable, and sustainable food. Held annually on October 24 to address issues as varied as health and nutrition, hunger, agricultural policy, animal welfare, and farm worker justice. Created by Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) GOAL: Strengthen and unify the food movement to improve our nations food policies. Local Chicago goal is to focus on UNIFYing around good food

o National Focus for 2013: Food Education & Worksites CSPI will develop marketing materials, guides, and other information around both Food Day and Food Education and Food Day in Worksites National Priorities: Promote safer, healthier diets Support sustainable and organic farms Reduce hunger Reform factory farms to protect the environment and farm animals Support fair working conditions for food and farm workers National Website: www.foodday.org Sign up to receive email updates from National Food Day they offer webinars and other resources throughout the year to help plan for Food Day Check it out! Get Involved includes examples of activities held in 2012; Resources offers a wide variety of information including curricula, recipes, and organizing tools
